my benchtop power supply measures current in 1ma increments and it says that it draws exactly 160ma, so a 200 ma power supply should be fine.

Before or after dirt?

That's up to you, rather than the compressor. In general, comp before dirt tends to result in more consistent dirt level, while dirt before comp tends to make the dirt more dynamic: e.g. more dirt when you dig in, less when you lighten up. YMMV.

Now that this pedal has been out for a little while how do you guys feel about the all in mode on the FET setting? I feel like this mode is less for dynamic control and more for adding punch and explosiveness to the transient.

I personally love slow attack, fast release on this mode a great deal. I've been running this pedal before my B7k but I'm going to experiment with dirt first in the chain.

Honestly having trouble telling the bus and sym apart. Fet is definitely grittier.

FET with all the lights on basically responds like a light overdrive. Sounds really good on heavy rock and stuff.

its very quiet. I was expecting more hiss and such. Sounds wonderful!

Does anyone like low Time on compressors? I always find that it kills dynamics completely...no punchiness at all. So far running blend and time at 3 oclock, compression at 12, ratio at 3rd light, Bus mode, output to taste

sounds good, looks cool, feels super sturdy. It's a winner so far

I agree with you that low time, atleast the factory spec, seems much less useful and more muted than letting the front end through some with a higher time. I haven't found any applications for that sound atleast in the context of heavy music.

I returned the HL Monday, but I found it a bit noisy early in the chain or when trying to use as subtle compression. A gate might've helped. Using after dirt things got too sterile, especially the BUS mode. To be fair, I couldn't sort out if it was just the DG flavor I was struggling with or a borderline processed sound so, YMMV

It's definitely for both: "All Buttons" mode is a pretty classic go to on the rack 1176 for aggressive vocals, guitar and bass

I have a MXR iso-brick power supply. Have you had any reported problems using the iso-brick?

To be clear I have not purchased a HL yet. Definitely interested! Was concerned due to having the Truetone Pro CS12 myself.
With the new mod, sounds like the power supply issue will be a non-issue.
