JohnK runs two- one in each mode- he digs it. I didnt run mine in OD for long- it gets hairy. It seems to have more low end in EQ mode. Does it seem to lose some bottom in OD mode?

You'll be fine. I use it in church every week. Works great in that context. Much better than a B7K in my opinion: the DCX Bass has a less compressed, more natural voice that is much better suited to CCM and Gospel than the Darkglass stuff.I currently use the B7K direct and it sounds pretty good, but can get a little gnarly on top. Seems like the DCX with the adaptive eq would tame the fizz. Considered buying a LPF to tame the highs, but my church pedal board is pretty small so fewer pedals the better.
Trying to justify the price on one.JohnK runs two- one in each mode- he digs it. I didnt run mine in OD for long- it gets hairy.

They come up here with relative frequency @~$250. I wished i had waited rather than paying the full price new. They’re absolute tanks.Trying to justify the price on one.![]()
i often use mine as single pedal in overdrive mode. it sounds awesome that way.I'm considering getting the DCX, but it seems like most people are running it along with something else. Does anybody use the DCX in overdrive mode as a single pedal? I'm interested in using as an overdrive pedal, but I don't really want to have to have an (eq, booster etc) to make it sound good live.
This is the type of condition that can be easily relieved by a nice big 36 mo. Sweetwater Card 0% and equal payments promotion until October 30 on all Origin Effects products including...the DCX Bass!I'm doing my best to hold off, but the G.A.S. is strong in this one.![]()

One will show up before Christmas or my name ain't Unpainted Arizona…While I'm here if anyone is looking to sell their DCX for around $250 I'm interested!![]()
MBD2 is also on my list.My plan is to pair The DCX with distortion and Fuzz.
Plus use it the same way I use the Scorpion O/D and tone EQ enhancer.
My dirt path will be DCX > MBD3 or Grizzly Bass > Red Muck Bass or Son of Pharaoh
I'm cramped for space at that end of my board pedal size will when the day.

Very tempting! There is one in the TB Classifieds for $280 right now!
Interesting. I plan on using it direct mostly, but when I use my amps its usually through the Noble into the effects return anyway. Hopefully, I will like it.I was not liking the dcx all that well and last night tried it into the effects return on my mesa and rumble amps. Bypassing the amps internal eq. Wow! I love this pedal now!
