New: Zoom B3n Multi-Effects

I've named NO NAMES, and yet I'm met with such a defensive, expository monologue!

I wonder why?!?........(If it doesn't apply.....Let it fly )
Sorry but no...you have made an unsubstantiated claim designed to minimize the opinions of people you don’t agree with. When pressed you infer it proves your point. Nope, it doesn’t.

Who are these "people" I don't agree with?

I've only had a disagreement with one member so far, and some of that stems from strange behaviour I have seen on other forums, and websites, which I listed.

When I said "Some Forum Members", I didn't specifically mean only talkbass members - hence the reason I said that you find them all over the internet and listed the places (Talkbass, Basschat, The GearPage, Gearslutz, etc).

They usually have sock accounts that seem to agree with everything they post, and stalk/attack anybody who criticizes a brand/product that they endorse.

I've observed this kind of behaviour from only one talkbass member so far, but chose not to mention a name.

Yet, this person immediately assumed I was talking about them?!

How would they know I was referring to them, when no names had been mentioned??

I'm on my third OEM Zoom B3n power supply. Pretty much my own fault since it's from my spaztic post-gig wrapping and usually start to fray wear the wire reaches the brick. Any suggestions for a hamfisted, knuckle dragging, 4 string slapper for either an after market alternative or preventive maintenance? Wrap it more carefully you say? Not gonna happen. It's 2am and I wanna leave the bar.
So, how do you all keep consistent volume between patches? Do you adjust the patch volume? Or adjust individual effects and keep patch volume at 100 on all patches?

If I want to satisfy my volume nerd consistency, I run the B3n into my DAW and use the visual meters to match everything to unity gain. Then I adjust slightly to taste from there depending on whether I want the patch to stand out a bit or sit back. Usually gets me pretty close and I'll tweak a bit at rehearsal or gigs.

I split my bass signal into a mixing board into a powered mixer. One channel is the direct bass, the other is the bass run through the effect. I then use the master volume of the multi-fx to match the output of the dry direct bass with the multi-fx IN BYPASS mode (tuner bypass - pass thru dry bass signal). By ear (or visually using meters), when the two volumes are matched, I set levels using the Global Master and leave it alone.

From there, I volume match my presets within the patch, and in relation to Tuner Bypass. No one effect within a patch signal chain should vary greatly in volume from the base-line unless it is intended. It is very easy to get "gain build-up" when adding effects to a patch's signal path. You have to be sure to not get carried away adding volume. It's a natural tendency and easy trap to fall into.

It's time consuming and takes some tweaking, hopefully at gig levels at practice. Hope this helps.

I've had this pedal for about a week. It is a lot of fun. I do all my editing using the GuitarLab.
So far I've made 3 patches that I'm really happy with. Fun to compare with the actual pedals I have.

Question: Is there a way to Blend an entire patch? That could be so useful, or at least worth trying. Something like 50/50 wet/dry of the entire patch. Changing blends of individual effects within a patch changes the tone. That's not what I'm looking for. That might even help out some of the preloaded patches. Most are useless to me, but maybe 50% of one added to the dry tone could sound pretty good.

IIRC, this was a feature in the Zoom B3, but I don't think it exists in the B3n. I think you'd be looking at an external blender box to do this. Not 100% positive, but if you can't find this setting in the Global/Master settings or Global/Patch settings, I think we're out of luck.

Thank you very much. I'll keep looking. If it's not available, perhaps in a future update.

Hey Dudes,
Do you think we will see another B3n update at Namm this year or do you think that's it? I would love to see a few more amp models. GK, Hartke, Orange, maybe? But overall I'm still quite satisfied.
What do you guys think?
Best wishes,
Brent
I really hope they will bring something new for the b3n. At least to demonstrate they are not that kind of company that abandon their customers once they have a new hardware.
