NFL Off Season

The playoff loss was a coaching error. And Steve Smith continued to his ways of torching the NFL, and Ron Rivera didn't make the adjustments to his D that game to contain him. Fox is a more experienced coach, as well as a very talented one, and that came into play.

Does anyone knock on the Seahawks and their easy season where they play the 49ers, Cardinals and Rams? Is there a defense to be found anywhere in that division?

Even if you knock on the Norris division, you cannot deny that 7 Bears made it to the pro-bowl. 1/3 of the starting lineup made all-pro. That's pretty d@mn good, and doesn't signify a need to pull a Dan Snyder and flush productive players and go on a shopping spree. Continuity is a good thing in football, and the Bears are finally starting to get some.

As far as talent and depth, the D is dominant. The O needs work, but young prospects like Mark Bradley and Airese Currie were hurt during the season, and Moose was still getting acquainted with the offensive scheme. The line is solid, and there are three guys who can start for most teams running the ball. There are needs in the offense, like a TE and a game breaking WR, but those can be addressed through the draft. I'm glad the Bears didn't spend all that cash on Randle El. I like the guy, but he's not worth a Reggie Wayne type of contract regardless of what Dan Snyder thinks. If a big signing costs us one of the best weakside LBs in the biz in Lance Briggs, then it's not a gain at all.

Although, I would like the Bears to be more active on the transaction news to build their team, I wouldn't want them doing it at the cost of losing productive players already on the roster that is familiar with the coaching and schemes.

I believe that the Bears are gonna come out with a serious chip on their shoulder. After that game the D should have the goal of not letting anybody score next year. If you would have told me before the Carolina game that the offense would score 21 points I would have predicted an easy win. But the D let the team down and Carolina came out with something to prove. Football is a game of confidence but cockiness will get you beat.

I say 10-6 easily. The offense will be a lot better with either Grossman or Griese under center. That thing we called an offense with Orton got us 8 wins didn't it?

I agree...and thanks for clearing it up. I guess I was mistaken. The Bears are, in fact, offensive!

So offensive that we beat the poor ol' Pack twice. Now when was the last time that happened? You guys must have really been "offensive".

You'd think any team could do better than that against a team that was down to a sixth string RB and only one reciever.

I wonder what the score would have been if the Packers actually fielded something more than a team made up of Arena League backups.

Remember how well you guys did against the Packers when the Bears had that injury plagued season? Or even the 12 seasons before that?

Blame it on the injuries.:D You Packer backers always have some excuse. If the Pack would of won those games then you would be riding the fact that you beat us with your 3rd stringers. Give it up. Just accept the fact that you got beat and the tide is turning. It's our turn now.:cool:
