Looks great. I bought both the plate (which i had to file out to fit right) and the 4-way jack. I get some kind of hum when using the 4-way with an input (even after severing the jumper). I've given up trying to debug.

Can I ask, did you remove the grounding washer from the locking jacks you have there? I'm thinking of just ordering those from redco and saving my solder-able ones for a different project.

I did not remove anything. that’s what I did. Skip the solder and buy the jacks. Sooooo much easier!

The 4 Way Jack Patch Module

This was very helpful, thank you! I was having huge problems with my 4 jack module. I have a preamp pedal at the end of the chain that output to the 4 jack module. Listening with headphones from that pedal gave me a horrible sound unless I plugged a lead in the output jacks. I modded the module as indicated in your post, and the problem disappeared. The funny thing is that I mentioned this to the folks at TEMPLE AUDIO and they responded: "Please disregard whatever information you read on a website that was not ours. All the jacks can safely be used as inputs or outputs without modifications." I don't know why they say that. It is obviously not the case. Any way, many thanks!

I recently came across a completely different post from someone with a Two Notes Le Preamp pedal at the end of their Temple board. They complained that the XLR out on Le Preamp would not function unless a 1/4" output cable was also connected. As it turns out they were using a stock 4 Way Jack Patch Module. When a 1/4" plug was not inserted in the output of the 4 Way Jack Panel, the 1/4" output of Le Preamp was shorted as I have identified, which in turn shorted Le Preamp's XLR output circuitry (resulting in no sound!)

Anyone with a multi-meter or continuity tester can easily confirm what I have described with the stock 4 Way Jack Patch Module. Its internal circuit board indeed has a trace to cut for this very reason even if Temple denies any need for it.

Well. I tried the redco jacks and even got a replacement 4-way from temple and still can't get rid of my hum/noise. I'm almost considering jumping to a larger size board but I've already sunk over $200 on it by now so I'll probably just give up and try to make it work a different way.

Hi Charlie C, new here, just saw your post for the bass v amp. I have one it's great, no problems, will adjust the gain like your said. I can't find my bass v amp preset sheet, do you have one to post, it's front and back. BTW I really like Jack Bruce so I formed a preset using the Marshall pre-amp...it sounds just like a Marshall and Jack's.

Bringing er back around here to 2019. I just bought the Temple Audio Trio 21; orange/blk, board.

This deal came with 3 plates, lrg, med, small. No carry bag, but I bid for one on ebay and got it. So rather pricey up front before any mods or add ons. I'm more in need to scatter my pedals where they are not all bunched up like on my Gator Pedal board; like size 16"x12". This TA should give me the room I need for more top to bottom space. May add effects loop pedal w/3-4 switches then I can add more pedals to be all bunched up again.

Only have around 8 out of 13 pedals I plan to mount first. But may add more as I feel the need. Also, just bought and using the Joyo Recharable power source. Works well so far, just charges up like a battery and lasts pretty good time. Can be re-charged while in use if needed, that's helpful.

I will use the 3 mounting plates they sent on the "always on/permanent use pedals". But may use nylon zip ties for the rest, for now. Until I know what I really want and can mount with the plate system. Some seem happy just using the zip ties only. We'll see. Nice looking board; hoping it holds up well. peace, e.

I disagree on the removal part. Not that easy and my TFR's paint was ruined when I pried the plate off. I went to zip ties with my Temple board.

As per the overly sticky-ness of the plates. I saw where one cat used blue, painters tape on his pedals before sticking the plate to it. It seemed to hold fast and facilitate the removal later. I'll be trying that method with the first 3 plates I install.

Awesome thread! I have 2 DUO 17’s a solo 18 a TRIO 21 and a TRIO 28. Been using the DUO’s and SOLO depending on what gig I’m at. I’ve had the side panels give in. So I drilled through that sucker and used tiny bolt and nuts to secure the 4-way jacks. Working on the TRIO 21 as we speak!

I just purchased a Temple audio 17 duo pedal board. Im looking for a hard case for it but don't want to pay crazy money. Any suggestions would be great. Ps i live in Europe, Ireland.

I saw someone using a pelican case somewhere, looked like it worked well..

Yeah I think a pelican is the way to go. Temple also sells a hard case but for the $ they want you can get a pelican a little cheaper if you look around.
