Is that finish Blue Mist Metallic?

I'd love to read some reviews of the new SB basses when everybody has had a chance to really test them (live or studio). Heck, for that matter, I'm also interested in how people like the new alnico pickups.

Here's a club I should have joined a long time ago. Here's my LB75f, The first bass I bought my self, and my second bass ever. Was my #1 for 4 years until my return to 4 string fretted instruments. Here she is in an outdated group shot.

The sad fact is that, as nice as this bass plays and sounds, at this point I'm really starting to dislike the color. I'm not super happy with the shape either (very early 90's) but I think in natural this bass might get played more. What I'd really like is a frettless SB5000, but between sentementality and uber low resale value, it looks like I'm sticking with this one.

Anyone tried stripping and refinishing a carvin?

Here's my bunny (BB76F). Ordered completely plain-jane bone stock with no options, not even a coil splitter switch, except the 5 piece neck (maple with 2 walnut stripes) and unlined fretless fingerboard options.
I replaced the stock carvin flats with a set of TI jazz flats.

This one has completely cured my GAS and is now the only instrument I play.

May I ask how you got the "hard as nails" finish on yours? I had heard it was an option but that you had to specifically request it somehow. I ordered my bunny through the website and didn't see this option (tho admittedly I didn't need it since mine is unlined, I use flats and unfinished ebony still gives me the tone I want).

Right, it doesn't show up on the website, it is only available over the phone. I kept seeing videos of Bunny playing basses with a "Pedulla-like" shine on the fingerboard, so when I didn't see it online, I decided to call and ask if it was available. I believe that it is difficult to apply, therefore, it lengthens the delivery time and increases the cost, so they don’t advertise it on the web.
The finish itself is nice to look at and has a clean silky feel. I have to say that the tone is great. The coating is not as thick as the one on Pedulla basses and, perhaps as a result, the tone seems to be a bit more organic. The fingerboard is also pretty impervious to string damage due to the coating. I’d call this a good hybrid finger board approach that beats Ebonol hands down.
