I have a pair of bolt-on Classic 5s on order. Both are 34". Ever since selling the Classic 5 I had previously I've missed it. This'll get me my fix!

The 1st one should be done within weeks-it's got Aero JJ pups with 3-band eq and Macassar ebony board/plain ash body sans top. The second is more unique; it'll have a split coil P pup and be passive, birdseye maple board/walnut burl top. The 2nd order was only placed about a month ago, so it'll be a while for that one......I've never seen an Elrick P before (only P/J active). I plan on stringing it with Chromes.

Those both sound very nice.

Bass Emporium has had a bunch of walnut-topped Elricks to match that one. There's been a seven-string due at Bass Emporium forever. I'm hoping it hasn't been pre-sold; it's one of the two I'm most interested in getting, mainly because it has 17mm spacing (the other is a 34" singlecut 6 with standard spacing).

I haven't been using my Elrick much lately but brought it to a gig today and it killed. Not the Fender tone I usually need...but it's great in a different way. SO glad I didn't sell it.

Has anyone tried putting Nordstrands in their Elrick? I dig the Bartolini's but they're so compressed I find it unusable in the studio... I'm thinking a pickup/preamp swap might enhance the sound and therfore put the bass on some more sessions....

There is a picture of an Elrick posted in this thread somewhere, that has nordstrands in it.

I can't wait for mine. It is supposed to be here in a few weeks. Rob said he was going to get it out before he went on vacation. I think mine is one of the last ones in this batch.

glenn at bassspecialties just sent me a pic of my single cut. it will be in my hands tomorrow!!!!!!!!:bassist:

Amazing bass. Some of the best maple figuring (quilt and birdseye) that I've ever seen. Just wasn't 'the one' for me :bassist:

I am still kicking myself for not buying this one I played it when it was at Bass NW originally......by the time I had the scratch it was gone..Seems to me this one had Aero pups and the Demetre pre amp.

Well damn, that's just pretty! Looks like Rob forgot to put a couple knobs on yours ;)

yeah.... i dumped the bart setup and went with a passive aero setup. i absolutely love the way the aeros sound in my 6 string. there are more pics of the 6 string coming soon.... just waiting for my wooden pickup covers to come in.....and my ramp......

Two of my basses have Nords in them. DC's and JJ. Both those basses have Audere pre's in them. I should have Fatstacks in another soon, and hopefully Big Splits too.

The great thing about Nords is the 19mm spaced ones, should fit in the same routes. You'll have to get custom covers made.

So if it's not to your liking, you can always switch back.
