Official Joyo Club Part 2: Beyond Thunderclone

Thanks for the number!! I love both the American and the Ultimate Drive equally, I really can't decide which I prefer, I will say that I did conclude that I like the American for low gain and UD for heavier unlike most.... Eventually I will get around to my cheapie board, I might even build the board itself, half my pedals are in my locker or closet at home, and most are dirt, but I think I'll be more apt to use them if their on a board!!

so I was gassin' for the analog chorus, but IIRC its a clone of the old boss CE2 right ? I recently purchased the CE2B for a good price, but I have to admit I was disappointed, I ran it at 12 volts cuz 9 sounded awful, but even then it was underwhelming...just too subtle for me

but, since I've never owned reverb, delay or a phaser, I think the joyos might be a good place to start for me, also thinkin about there flanger since I only have chorus

And I keep the American before my modulations because. So its the last dirt pedal, and kind of like my dirty part of the pre amp, and then I have my modulation thingies, they work a lot better after the American than before it, and the last pedal I have in the board is my clean pre, Fishman Pro eq.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing. Now to decide whether to go Tuner - wah - dirt or tuner - fuzz - wah - rest of dirt

The order of pedals can be debatable. I would suggest trying it a few different ways before settling.
For me, I run feedback looper (everything is in loop), wah, Ultimate Drive, British, Rat, phaser, BSY600 synth (needs expression pedal to open possibilities), analog delay, tuner, lastly a BDDI.

I like how the wah impacts the fuzz pedals. Seems like more dramatic sweeps. Anyways, have fun!

So I finally put my wah after my dirt to see how it would sound. God damn, it sounds so much better. If its before the dirt, the sweep gets so distorted I can barely hear it. I'm still gonna put one fuzz after my wah just in case I wanted to get that subtle sweep sound.

haha sorry but I had to laugh. That was the first thing I thought too when I first put my wah at the end of my chain. Or towards the end. I cant stand it at the beginning. May as well not even have a wah then! Thats my 2 cents anyway.

Sorry for the clipping guys. Heres a short, again sorry for the crappy clipping, of the Joyo Metal. Im still figuring out mic placement and levels. Bear with me dudes.

Here's a shot of it doing work:

So, here's a new twist on the Ultimate Drive. I've seen the Harley Benton version. How about a Deviser Ultimate Drive?

Same Oni, same awesome sound...new label. This pedal was a Christmas gift that was ordered from Amazon off of my wish list. I had the Joyo version on my list, so I'm not sure how this one got shipped.

The part number is slightly different, too:

And, yes, it is "intermediate between distortion and overdrive, different from the normal diode clipping circuit" and it definitely "could create more active redundancy, and effects of electron tube amplifier and complex Harmonic spacious sound!"

I'm a little hesitant to refinish my pedal, though, as it's coated with "stoving vanish"... :roflmao:

On the strength of this thread and the one before, I ordered an American Sound and it arrived today. I'll be messing with it tonight.

Edit: I got about 20 minutes with it... Very much like I expected and I'm happy. Money well spent. Thanks for the heads up everyone!

I think it's the brand they market in China
