Origin Audio Cali76 FET compressor (1176 inspired)

Nice, I have a feeling I'll have a few questions then!

Yesterday I took a picture of it while trying to figure out how to fit it on my PTjr. It looks like my B7K is shrank.

I wanna give a big thumbs up to the guys at origin effects, great service and awesome shipping.

Eric

Nice!

What is the MA rating for the 18 volt power supply? Is anyone running their Cali on a pedalboard type power supply, if so which one and how is that working out? I have a fuel tank chameleon, it has an 18v option, but it only provides 150ma, not sure if that's enough for the Cali. Thanks in advance!!!

I just took delivery of a Cali76-TXP. I still have to put it through its paces, but after experimenting with the pedal, I have to say the inclusion of the Parallel Compression circuit is a Significant addition. Definitely expands the pedal's versatility.

La la la la la la la la la I can't hear you!

I've been playing with mine for about 2 and a half hours. It's really a special pedal. At first I left the blend off. I was amazed by the snap I was getting. When I rolled in the dry signal I found what I've been looking for. I sure like the boost option, it really pushes that transformer into a sweet little grit. I found happiness with the ratio just under 8 to 1, the attack and release at 3 o'clock, output at 2 o'clock, the input at 9 o'clock, blend at 2 o'clock. I set the boost at 8 o'clock, it's not a giant boost, but it really seems to dig into the transformer. I'm sure a ton of tweaking is left to come.

Ok, I've been "out of the game" for about 10 years, and have been building an arsenal of modern weapons for a few months and have been looking for a great compressor. Thanks for this thread, I'm taking a chance and jumping in, just ordered a Cali 76 TX-P from Vintage King.

Okay. Used it in anger on Monday. Very interesting I would say it wasn't doing anything but experience tells me it is. It doesn't sound as compressed (not sure if that's an intended pun :smug: ) as my maxon, just very smooth and organic.
Didn't notice it at all which to me says it's doing its job.

Cali 76tx incoming today! I just landed an awesome new steady gig and I figured I'd treat myself (by selling off a ton of gear that isnt getting much use) to the Cali and a REDDI. Any thoughts on how well they will play with each other? I currently use a Diamond comp and I like how it sounds with the REDDI. Either way I'll find out later tonight while learning music and tomorrow night for my first show!
