Really?Ooh, I got one!!!
People who try to cut others down by labeling their problems as "first world problems".
Funny enough, in my experience that only happens in first-world countries. The folks I've known in developing countries tend not to worry about putting down others' problems regardless of size.
Real first-world problem there right?
Fortunately, at least in the US/Canada, with the proliferation of micro and regional breweries, this is no longer even a first-world issueI don’t like light beer.
Enjoy it while you can. Soon you’ll be fending for yourself. Long live enterprise! So Anyway, I'm retired and receive a nice Social Security payment every month along with great healthcare and pharmacy.
But the government won't supply me with a Rick Turner Model 1 Bass.
Somebody start the revolution... I'm all in.
The only time I hear the phrase "first world problems", It's meant to trivialize what someone is going through. My point is that those who have actually lived in places that aren't first-world don't poo-poo other's issues regardless of size. It's like a whole lot of other 'charged' words and phrases that don't actually help anybody and only serve to divide society.Really?
This is cutting down those of us who are blessed to enjoy first world problems.
NOT those who are less fortunate geographically by no choice of their own.
Is it perverse humor?
Yes.
Do these exercises help the less fortunate in other locales?
Not much but maybe a bit of awareness even if presented in an absurd manner is preferable to total ignorance of the situation.(?)
I also have enough nice basses that I sometimes have difficulty picking which one to use on a gig. Maybe we need a support group. Oh, wait, we're here.

.The seedless grapes in my fridge have tiny little seeds in them.
So they could steal your fish.OK, that ain't trivial. In North Korea, if you did that in the wrong place, they'd kill you with an anti aircraft gun.
Move to Montana soon. The air conditioner fan on my F-150 Lariat (think "boss truck" with leather seats and power everything) is stuck on one speed. It still blows cold air, but it takes a solid 10 minutes to cool the truck from "sitting outside in Texas heat" to "comfortable". I don't know what I'd do without my cooled seats to help make it less miserable when I get in to drive home.

The fact that the phrase is primarily used in developed countries should be another indication of the privilege of the people using it, not those it is meant to 'shame'. It doesn't raise any awareness, it doesn't help anybody actually...it only serves to divide people further.
Just fix it. It’ll keep going. I have a 1996 Tacoma 4wd it’s a great gig mobile(I got it a cap). I don’t want no tv screen either! My 18 year old Toyota truck is starting to give me problems! I'd buy a new one but I want a manual transmission and they are all automatics now and I don't like the TV screen that all new vehicles have.

Exactly as I described.
It doesn't help anyone but in NO way is hurting anyone. By making fun of the stupid sht that we "suffer" at times in the west it is actually pointing out how foolish and selfish the "privileged" can be.
Humor can exist without degrading and this is not degrading anyone except those of us admitting how silly some of our daily concerns can be.
