I’m a little intellectually challenged when it comes to the ins and outs. But the difference between the ST and LT is the switching section. The LT is a combination of linear and class D where the ST is a full switching amp. The LT is what I’ve always sold the most of and the LT is also what I’ve always used. Its a wonderful amp and for the money and what you get I haven’t really found anything to compete.

The new Crest amp is taking the place of both the LT and ST. So I’m banking that it better be the $h!t
I know talking to Crest yesterday, its seems this will be and that its something totally different then what a lot of people have seem. I’m pretty excited to see it at NAMM and get my order in! I wasn’t really given any specs for the amp......sorry. I’ll try and call today and see if I can get something for you.

Here’s the photo & specs for the NEW Crest Pro 8200 series power amp which I’ve been using for a few months, it’s absolutely KILLER! For you dining & entertainment pleasure, I’ve also included my preamp of choice, the Millennia Origin STT-1.

Pro 8200: 825 W @ 8 Ohm Stereo; 1450 W @ 4 Ohm Stereo; 2250 W @ 2 Ohm Stereo 4500 @ W 4 Ohm stereo (bridged) 25 lbs.

I love loud bass. My guitarist hates it. But I have 3400 watts of bass lovin so I win.

I've always been a fan of pre/power setups. I run an Ampeg SVP-Pro with my QSC PLX 3402 and it sounds wonderful. I just picked up an Avatar 410 cab and it's incredible (1400 watts RMS). I've never come close to matching wattage on the PLX 3402 but this cabinet can take it (that is until I give a try with the PLX bridged at 3400 watts). Nicest thing about the PLX is it weighs around 20 pounds. My back thanks QSC.

Tell me more about the Millennia Origin STT-1. I'm interested, usually not a fan or parametric, but I'm intrigued.

The Crest Pro series I look forward to checking out as well. Crest stuff is with out a doubt some of the best production amps on the market. I can’t wait to see the new CD series at NAMM.

Brian, Terry Buddingh said it best;

What I notice is that even when you EQ, it doesn't sound like the un-natural EQ you normally hear. You can always change tubes to make it a more in your face or grunt sound as well. For me it's the ultimate preamp for testing & designing our cabs.

Hope to see you at NAMM. I'll have my STT-1 with me & maybe the new, smaller TD-1 TWIN DIRECT (pictured) that I just received.

Well, when you get into the echelons of 1st class audio. It becomes apples and oranges. (Not that old cliche') Bill Dickens played the rig Mark speaks of at Bass Quake. I thought the sound of the Glock Bass Art was a bit fatter sounding. But, then again I did not personally doodle with the Millenia. I'm sure I could have dialed in exactly what I wanted though. I think that Anthony Jackson is using Millenia pres now. Everyone knows what an audiophile he is. (The previous statement was not sarcasm.)

I have several pre amps like Aggie 680, Dem 201, Glock BassArt with PLX 3402 which gave so much power to 2 ocs WJ 2 x10, but I am thinking to buy Power soft DIGAM 2002 or 3002, big power 1 u rackspace 8,5 kg. Has anybody got any experience with this amp ?
By the way the nicesst sound still come from Demeter VTHM 300 all tube power although the weight is too much for my back. ;)

How does the Glock Pre compare to the Dem 201?

I feel Dem treble is to aggressive while the mid is too shy, I have to turn down the treble side many times, while Glock is warm although it is solidstate. The high frequency side of Glock is of very fine , smooth ,defined and uncoloured. You can hear every detail of your note transparently . That amp would be the very best for fretless playing where you can really hear the smooth singing of the fretless.
Slapping with Glock equally good as Demeter.
I bought my Bassart together with the drive cable which guarantee that all the signal out of your bass arrive to your pre completely [ it has a small pre in the cable]
I would say Glock makes the best bass system only if one can afford it.
If I have to choose among three , I 'll take Glock any time.
