Precision is a Chevy, Jazz is a Ferrari

I am a classic car guy. A vintage Porsche 911 body style is not really even aesthetic. It is the body shape if you design the car first, then stretch metal over the mechanical parts. It only coincidentally looks good. Ferraris are stylish. Vintage Porsche 911s were basically racing Beetles.

Probably because Ferrari didn't do bodies. Enzo was interested in racing V-12s and that's about it. He didn't bother to stretch a body over anything, he farmed that stuff out to other companies, usually Scaglietti.

Ok. I think I get it.

Does that make my Duesenberg a Duesenberg?

Leo Fender himself said so.

"By the end of the 1950s though it was time to expand the Fender bass category and Leo Fender and his staff turned their attention to a new “deluxe” bass guitar design in 1959. And just as the Stratocaster expanded on the Telecaster rather than supplanting it, this new bass would complement the Precision by offering great tonal versatility and a design that went beyond the utilitarian to the realm of the sleekly stylish. If the Precision was a Chevy, the new deluxe model would be a Ferrari."
Total BS

This is another topic but I have one of these, a Squier early 50s single coil p bass, and I always had a split coil for 40 years, but I never had a jazz bass. I’m thinking of finally getting one and giving away my single coil, which although fascinating I sometimes find impractical. Any opinions?

Glad this thread is providing y'all something to do before the NFL gets going (yes I know what time it is but I dunno that Lions/Bears counts... oops, were those fightin' words?). Thanks for keeping it friendly and funny, and since it is indeed humor, I'm moving it to the appropriate subforum.
I was afraid it would devolve, but hey-Leo said it, so it must be true. Right? :D
