This is a Squier Vin Mod TB bass I refinned w/ all reranch products..Neck is done w/ tinted nitro w/ period correct decal...Body is vintage cream nitro...I put in all switchcraft pots and jack w/ cloth wiring,added wilkinson vintage tuners,and a picguardian pickguard...I've always had a thing for 72 tele basses...

You Just a chrome cover over the bridge and it would look like a 72 Tele for sure.

I recently bought a bass that I think was refinished in your area of expertise (spray paint). it does have a decent clear coat though, so I was just wondering what I can do to gloss this body up. give it a nice buff and make it all shiny 
would wet sanding be necessary or even be damaging to the finish, I don't know what the difference in paint is though really so it may not even make a difference.

Many paints cannot be buffed. What brand was the clear coat on yours?

If you want to risk buffing/wet sanding it - you will either succeed or fail.
Spray cans are not a good gamble.

If I wanted to shine it up, I'd use 3-M Finesse-It II machine polish and start rubbing, checking often for positive OR negative results. I'd also start on the back, not the front. That polish takes off very little material but will create a nice shine.

I rattlecanned the headstock on one of my Affinity Ps. a few coats of black wetsanded in between and a couple shots of clear actually came out pretty close in color and quality to the original Squier body finish.
last weekend I switched necks between the two Ps, no pics yet.
