Update,got the rest of the finish off today.The horns were the most difficult areas to deal with.
I picked up a variety of sandpapers and rubbing block,some paint stripper for the cavities,and a clamp.The only wood filler I could find was some patch filler,works with wood so I hope its ok as there is a lot of repairs needed.
So now begins the sanding and filling.

I'd recommend getting some Bondo or MinWax filler. The two part one of either. I use the Minwax because I couldn't find the Bondo local and didn't want to wait for Amazon to deliver.

I'd also suggest this product. I using it for the first time on my present build. Wish I'd found it earlier. Works great.

BIN primer time!

Green base and flakes added.

Finished, the flakes and 2k clear were done with a preval spray.

Wow ! well done, it looks great. I'm hankering towards a rich much darker green or purple with a similar finish.

I'm doing my first rattle-can job on a pawnshop Epi LPJ. So far so good.

UPDATE: The guitar didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. My wife tells me I should sand it down and redo the whole thing.... I think she's probably right.

That was the Krylon for plastics. And just International RED. No other differentiation.

There are unprinted rules to using it though! It must be recoated in less than 1/2 hour or you have to wait for 72 hours for the next coat.

They SAY to wait no less than 15 minutes and no more than 1/2 hour or you have to wait 24 hours. Boloney!

If you only wait 24 hours, you'll get to remove it and start all over again. My experience told me to wait for the out-gassing to stop and then it was safe for the next coat.

If you aren't fast enough or too fast you will wrinkle to last coat and it will look like dried alligator.

Unless you're after that Jungle Reptilian Theme, it's not good to push the speed up for the next coat to your needs.

I have a Memphis p-bass (Korea) that I'm in the process of refinishing.
It was in bad shape when I got it, this is after I removed a bunch of dirt, dust, and duct tape. The previous owner did some bad electronic work, so it needs a new pickguard, knobs, and pots.


Just before disassembly. I'm going to pick up some Bondo to take care of the chips and dents.






After sanding the body down to bare wood.


I picked up these Krylon cans in a satin finish, and a trigger handle (not shown). I need to go to a different store to pick up Krylon primer in All Purpose Grey.

My goal is camo with a satin finish.....still trying to figure out to do that since Krylon doesn't seem to like clear coats. Any suggestions?

Update: The weather here has either been cold, raining, or snowing, making it impossible to spray paint outside. Looks like building an indoor spray booth is order. I also picked up a tube of Bondo hardener, but I'm not sure which filler to mix with it....may return it and get an actual wood filler instead.

I used Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty for filling some dings on my last project. It's a 4.5 oz tube that's almost like the cream and hardener mixed together in one package. Much easier than mixing regular Bondo - I highly recommend it.

it's hard to capture this subtle minty color but here are a few as it is now , still waiting a couple more weeks before the polish .

the pg is mint but the color looks more blue in this light
