Ive noticed it on every photo posted of the back of one of these

B string ferrule slightly shifted towards neck, and a bit close to the E string ferrule.

If this where the debate has gone, I'm out. A Sire V7 is a high quality, direct from the manufacturer, bass. It's an import version of Carvin without the options. There is nothing weird about its price quality. No one who dislikes it has to buy it or even try it.

IDK but pete wentz is my favorite bass player since many moons ago!! and he is much much better tha marcus and jaco though.

I'm sure they are fine basses, my whole point is that, to say they are on par with an American Standard Fender is laughable, because everything you pay for in an American Standard is not on the Sire, its just a fact. I'm sure they set up and play just fine. I am pretty sure they have a very nice preamp for the money, but I am also sure the components that went into said preamp are cheap lower quality stuff as you would find on any inexpensive bass. I would guess it is a copy of what Marcus Miller has in his Fender, but who knows.

In a month or so, there will be plenty of these in the classifieds when people fall out of love with them. I may pickup one up if the price is right.

You should! You'll never know for sure until you try one for yourself. And no the preamp in Marcus personal bass is a special Bartolini of some kind I think.

Along the lines of the OP's request, I would hope most folks who die for these basses realize that while the company is Korean, the basses are not made in Korea. I've read at least once here on TB that the basses are MIK.
