Where you get the pickguard? I'm looking for one exactly like that. I'm getting the Daphne blue one.

I got mine from Precision Guitar in Phoenix, AZ. I have bought one guitar pickguard and then a SBMM bass pickguard. Both times I did not have any significant delays, but I heard others have. I would contact them first before you order b/c they have different colors/sizes and what’s available will depend on how long you have to wait. The holes and the pickup opening line up, but the neck pocket is smaller on the EBMM than the SBMM. I bought from WD very early before anyone else was making SBMM pickguards and had to use a file to hand fit it. Someone else used a dremel and it only took him maybe 10 minutes.

If you buy from Precision Guitar in AZ they are using a template from my SBMM RAYSS4. Since I was the first to request it I had to mail in my pickguard so they could make the template. So if you don’t have a dremel contact Precision.

Nice! I’ve got one coming too. Color is called abalone. Sort of a black pearl. I’ll post a pic when done.

Did you get that from WD Pickguards? I've been looking closely at that exact material. I've got a sample but it's hard to imagine how it looks on the bass. Please post pics when it gets there!

In classic design terms, there's an incompatibility between the curve profiles of the chrome control plate, pick-guard and body. IMHO this quirky mismatch works great on the lighter body colours but is not so good with dark colours like the dropped copper. This could be partly down to the edge-shading of the digital image used to promote the new colour. I'd really like to see the actual bass but looks like that ain't gonna happen for a while.

Hmm. Is it just the photo, or is the new pickguard slightly more cool tone white than the body? Not sure that quite works for my eye. But it's making me think a pearl pg would look good on a blue bass.

Much more important than my opinion, what are your thoughts?

Yeah it is more of cool tone I suppose. I was kind of torn between this one, tort or a gray/black perloid. This one is growing on me though.

Black was my other choice but I got pearloid. Blacks looks really good though.

It is surprising but it shouldn't be. Black goes with everything. I may just go black on my own for a tuxedo look, or maybe instead of buying lots of basses I'll just get like a dozen pickguards and swap them out to suit my fancy.

I'll take some when I get home. The black pickup cover stuck out like a sore thumb to me, now it looks good

You two are the ones that swapped necks right? I thought both basses looked better after the swap. Also think the white would look best with a black guard.

I did. I guess it fits the EBMM (neck pocket is different). We’ll see how steady my dremel tool usage is.
