I waited weeks until I could make the drive, and Dave over at Ultimate Basses in Guelph was gracious enough to open his shop on Thanksgiving day Monday for me. After fiddling with all the appropriate dials on my bass and amp, I came to the conclusion that Its not the one for me. Its certainly not a bad sounding cab, in fact it had really good definition and a very articulate upper-end without becoming harsh. Probably more so than most of the other cabs I've tried. It felt like the cab was really taking off when I was hitting the G string octave (and higher notes) not unlike a race-car approaching their power band.
I think I may have hyped myself up over what everyone was saying so I was over-expecting something special to happen when I hooked up. I don't know - it may have been room-modes but that special something didn't happen for me.
So - I guess I'll just keep looking for that special cab.

I love my 1210, btw...
Maybe test out a Berg 322?? They've been speaking to me in the back of my head the past few months or so...

in the early-mid 70s and Honolulu 80-81...anyway,at first I was thinking of getting a 1212 and a 1210, but now I'm starting to think that a Schro 410
is where I want to be,,,cheaper, and
Thunderfunk 550-but will that be enough
)-but it sounded great pushing 8-10s in the store though. I've also thought about a Yorkville XS800 Bassmaster head-800 watts at 4 ohms,or the Eden WT800 -8oo watts at 4 ohms...
