I'm playing a Thunderfunk TFB420 thru a 1210, and find that it covers all this very, very well...I don't think you're going to suffer any lack of full round low end with the 1210, and it has a little more direct punch than the 1212...and it's what Jorg specifically recommended to me for this application.
Call him. Talk to him about your job, tools, needs. He has yet to steer me wrong, and I have several of his fine products.

thanks for replying Jorg has already pm'd me and reccommended the 1212, so i think I'll go for that.

I'm most likely have a similar set up to you. Right now I'm looking at getting a Thunderfunk TF550 because its well priced here and then maybe adding a Sansamp BDI if i need some more growl for rock bands.

You might not need the Sansamp, the Thunderfunk is capable of excellent growl IMHO :cool:

That P has a very woody tone with medium frets and very little finish remaining on the maple board. It's the first bass I've tried with the Schroeder that really gave me the "tone jones".

There seems to be a pattern developing with my basses and the Schroeder. For some reason, on all 3 basses I've tried through this cab, I've needed to raise the pickups to get more bottom and get the cab to "sing". Anybody else have a similar experience?

I'm drivin it with the same stuff in my profile, SVP-PRO into the 1800 watt QSC. The Schro likes power. It may not *need* all that power to sound good, but it does sound noticeably better with more power. Either that or the amp just sounds better in bridged mode.

Alert, Alert, Shcroeder testimonial, yet again.

Just played a fill in gig for a friend of mine tonight. I took my Schroeder 1210, SWR SM-500( a good match bye the way) Fender American P bass deluxe which is strung with hot wire tapes. It was an outside gig with two guitars, sax , and drums. I had a great time, we laid it down. At one point I was told I was a little too loud ( no pa support bye the way). I continue to be amazed at the mojo these cabs posses. I could hear myself so clearly, it was a treat to play this show.

My QSC (PLX 2402) sounds much better in bridged mode going into my 1210. I finally got around to trying that the other day, and was really surprised by the results. They're gonna hate me even more than usual at open mike tomorrow... :bassist:

How does the Deluxe P go with the schroeder?

Hey Blizzard - I think you'll find the Thunderfunk into a 1212 is all you could ever want unless you're playing Budokan without PA support. The TF is a very loud and very warm amp, while the 1212 projects like mad, loves power put to it and is so efficient it even makes underpowering a joy. Can't say enough good things about Dave and Jorg. When the result of their excellence in their own fields comes together, it's a beautiful thing to behold!

Welcome to the Club!!! I wish I could afford more of them. I have the Mini-12 and a 1212. To complete my psycotic rig, I want to get a 21012.

i finally got to play my 1212 with my band on wends. night.
to be honest i was a little worried that this little tiny box, which is about half the size of my guitar players road case for his amp head, wouldnt be able to hold its own if i didnt have any PA.
we played a small bar/club and i had no PA.
i ran my GK 1001RBII and my upgraded SX pbass.
i wasnt even at noon on pre amp and master and it sounded great.
i have not been a bass player that long and i havnt owned any other very high end cabs, and i kinda was taking a big chance buying a cab this espensive (expesive to me) i giged with avatars before the schro
the best way i can described the tone was when you take away the mids it sounds great solo but like ass with the band, but i had lo-mids bosoted a good amnt. and the high mids boosted a hair, and it sounded great.
it had that "good tone in the bedroom, but ass with a band sound" but it sounded great with the band.

i have no idea if that made any sense.

jorg is great and i hope one day i can buy another cab from him!

The WT400 has plenty of power for the Schroeder. The XST is a great sounding cab... but large and heavy compared to the Schroeder. The Schroeder's mids are IMO right in between the XLT and XST.... perfect for me... enough lower mid to be really punchy, but not enough to sound nasally... The 1210 seems very, very efficient... so 400 watts into the 4ohm1210 shoudl scream.

as a great stand alone cabinet. From a purely objective viewpoint, the XST is heavier and larger. From a subjective viewpoint, I agree with Kjung that its sound is somewhere in between the XST and the XLT, BUT only in the fact that it has a fuller bottom end than a typical 210 would.

I used my 1210 yesterday in a medium/largesized room with about 250 in it....very loud partying people, and it performed like a champ. Heard it easily on stage, so did the rest of the band, and the first 20 feet of dancefloor and our PA took care of the sides and the rest of the room.

If I wouldn't have been mic'd on this gig, I could have turned up the 1210 more, but I'm finding that I need to run the bass flat or slightly cut and all of a sudden I can really crank the 1210. It really sounds great turned up a bit and probably could do a decent dub/reggae tone to a point for a small cabinet, but where it excels is running my bass and amp as close to flat as possible, use my outboard eq for some slight tweaking that's not reached effectively by my bass or amps tone controls, and then crank up the preamp volume to arond 10 to 11 o'clock, and then my master volume on the head to the point where my onstage volume causes band member discomfort levels and/.or dirty looks.

It's REALLY a great cabinet and is more like a 410 (except a Schroeder of course!!!), in a cabinet size and weight that's more like a decent sized 112 cab. The XST is definitely a nice and slightly upgraded cabinet tonewise, sensitivity wise, and response-wise, but it's still a 210, but in a noticeably larger box weighing the same.

If you end up liking the Schroeder tone, you'll have a difficult time switching back to "normal designed" cabinets.

This may be the biggest problem for me...I won't miss what I don't hear ? If I try one out it may throw me all out of sorts ! LOL
I've been quite happy with my wt800B, and either my 410xlt and/or 410xst, but need a smaller cab for wt400 and rehearsals/small/pa supported gigs.....and the 1210 being a bit smaller and lighter than any of the eden 210's, well, sounds like something I should check out !

I hear ya man. I love Eden as well. But, in the search for a smaller, lighter rig I can't justify using my two D410XLT's and my Navigator/WT-1000 rack.

I was about to order a WT-800B but was asked to try the WT1205 again (tried it briefly a month ago).

As with people on this thread, I am going to try the Schroeders. I keep hearing that they are like Eden's with better bottom end (tighter) and much better projection in a box half the size and half the weight.

I have used Eden fdor the last three years and I can't get away from the Eden sound I love BUT if Jorg's cabs sound BETTER and are that much easier to lug around when I am in town, then I'd be a fool not to switch.
