Not recognizing the MIDI Baby again. Ugh!

Yeah midi can be a PITA. I'll probably only use 2 C4 presets in my band. So no need for midi. And you can adjust the switching on the pedal so that if you hold it down while on preset 1, the light switches from green to red and it goes to preset 4. And then visa-versa. So I don't even need to bend down and switch the toggle on the pedal to alternate between my 2 presets. Ideal for live performance.

If anyone is using the MIDI Baby for C4 and cares to export their program file and send it to me, I would be very appreciative.

Yeah...I've found that one of the things that tends to be 'wonky' with all MIDI devices is the actual MIDI to USB interface. I sometimes have to fuss with connections, reconnections and restarts for a bit to get any of my pedals to connect properly to my MBP. It happens with my Timeline and my FI too.

I have the DMC-3XL (no computer interface) and programming it is tough because it doesn't have a computer interface (all scrolling on the unit and setting) and it definitely took me some sit-downs, cool downs and re-tries to get it to all do what it should. The biggest problem is probably that the pedals have so much going on in such a limited hardware interface that it's really deep really quickly.

DA has been good to do troubleshooting and tech support though, even if I'm still grumpy about their C4 implementation currently. ;)

I’ve been having issues with my dmc.micro and c4 with the dmc freezing if I scroll through presets too fast and sometimes not. It’s a bummer.

I’m in the middle of a pedalboard shake up going from the helix back to pedals so I haven’t had a chance to try to figure it out or contact disaster area yet, but it’s not cool when your in the middle of playing and go to switch over and it won’t.

I haven't had that issue with my DMC and any other pedals. Until I get the host or PC situation sorted, my DMC will only trigger the C4 to bypass or activate though. But yeah, that would be a monkey wrench. But seriously, talk to them they've been really good with responding and supporting.

I intend to once I get my board rebuilt. Waiting on pedals to come in and all the ones I do have are on the floor :laugh:

Got mine yesterday. I picked one up for my micro pedal board (I had a much larger board but moved to a Helix and needed to put together a smaller board). I have always bee. Impressed with SA gear and this is no exception. Super fast tracking and soooooo many sounds. Was up and running in no time. Great pedal so far.

I tried it on a different computer and different cables and it's the same thing. The MIDI Baby editor won't recognize the MIDI Baby. Very frustrating. It's not fun at all when this happens. Especially on a weekend when you can't get any support.

So another midi/pedal noob question:
I set a preset, volume is good, sound is good. I go to a gig, or come back to the board later, and the sound is different. I *think* it has to do with knobs moving between times.
Is that likely?
Is there a way to prevent, avoid, or work around it?

As has been said, you do want the pedal in 'preset' mode available through the general/global controls. Then you can adjust the pedal as you wish and save the updated patch (hold the main bypass button (all the way down after click)) and that's what it will recall, no matter what the button settings. My experience is that you may need to tweak volume & sensitivity depending on room and rig no matter what.

I actually had an hour to mess with sounds (still just community presets) and wow. I'm really enjoying this pedal.
I plan to spend some time with the manual tonight to better understand the neuro desktop and what all those virtual knobs do...
