Squier Vintage Modified Precision V: who's got one?

Finally joined the Pbass club, I've been strictly jazz bass (or two pickup) after my first Peavy pbass. Mine should be in tomorrow from GC in Olympic white!
Right now, Sweetwater has 2 red VMP Vs in stock that are 8lb 13oz and 8lb 14oz. There's also a demo Red available too.

Since the thread is up, I got it, a day early, and the I thought it had to be some stuff I ordered from Amazon in a Squier box 'cause it was too light to be a bass, haha...Weight was important, and I wasn’t buying without that info, which is probably the main reason I didn’t have one already.
8lbs-6oz is lighter than I would have settled for. Who knows, I may end up needing lighter tuners now, haha... but I doubt it.
My active 10lb-12oz bass is on the local CL.
Anyways, it's perfectly balanced, and no flaws anywhere. I plan no mods.
I'm as happy as I can be with it.
hmm, I have no refin talent, and seems like a lot of money just for a color, maybe get another CAR and put a black pickguard on it so I can tell them apart, one with flats, one with rounds.

Last nights gig playing in a Pink Floyd tribute band with mine was a great success. Musicians in the audience said the band sounded amazing. Seems it's hard to go wrong with this bass I was using DR HiBeams strings, the P-46 pickup, into my small pedalboard which has a Sadowsky external preamp with a little bass and treble boost. I also used a Ginger pedal at minimum gain for a little dirt on some songs. Stage monitor bass rig was the TC RH750 and a Barefaced compact (1x15). Got compliments on my stage bass sound from the choir ladies that it rumbled mightily but also had a sizzle and bite on top. Pretty cool that they notice, I had the high mids boosted a little to hear myself more clearly.

yes i want one of those too buy I'm hesitate because i think that maybe the SX top of the line ultra light american swamp ash are beterrs overall instruments, just they are unavailable for the moment but i want to read some opinions about comparing those two great affordable basses
Are we talking about SX basses from Rondo music?
I didn't know they were doing anything with swamp ash bodies, or that they did a 5-string P-bass knockoff.
Regardless, if we are, you can be almost certain that the SX will need more setup work.

A 5-string Precision-style bass? I've not seen such an SX bass or anything similar from Rondo.
yes they had one bass with American ultra light swamp ash, the bass looks amazing
Well I bought one of these a couple years ago from Sweetwater and it had a bad neck , just couldn't adjust it to get a good action above the 11th fret , so I returned it . They didn't have another P 5 in stock so the shipped me a VM Jazz 5 that had a great neck , Sweetwater always does great customer service . I've been jonesing for one of these for a while so when the wife gave me the green light last week I found a white one on Amazon and took a chance and ordered it .
It's absolutely perfect . Light weight very good neck and I love the look . I adjusted the truss rod and got the saddles adjusted for a low action then set the pickups up with the allen wrench spacing and it sounds just great . Took some of the gloss off the back of the neck and replaced the neck plate with some bezels from the hardware store but otherwise I think I'll leave it stock , great bass !

Well the rule is no pic no bass so here's the proof , it's with my main player a BTB with Aguilar super singles . They both just about play themselves .

Just in case anyone thinks that you can't play a Squier at "big" gigs, here are some pics of my band playing inside the Quicken Loans Arena this past Sunday for the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Finals watch party. They were playing at Golden State that night, but we're playing outside the arena tonight for the first home game in Cleveland. Tonight will be our 4th gig up there in the past couple weeks.
