Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 and Ray5

Here in Holland the best price I found was 339 euros.

Today I saw the Black Maple version. Beautiful just as the rosewood versions. The rosewood version sounds great, didn't had the chance to play the black one today.

The maple fingerboard as well as the headstock on the rosewood version has a slightly more vintage tint than above picture.

got mine from a local dealer here in indonesia, it's very light, i guess that's why it's not as expensive as the big brothers

still got 4 hours left at work, can't wait to go home to try this

Did I say this is why EB/MM stopped licensing OLP's. Why let someone else get the money when you can??? Imagine an OLP with a 2 band pre. If you have an OLP, put in a Nordy MM replacement and either a SGD Luthiery 2 band pre or the Nordy 2 band pre this is what you get. RIC should wake up and smell the coffee and do the same for RIC fans that can't afford a USA made RIC. They could make the bass out of elm or poplar . I have an OLP 5 string made from Elm and it sounds good to me.

I wish EBMM would make the naming etymology more distinct.
I would be curious to see what the more fender-ish bridge does for the tone.
It doesn't have the side turrets and the barrels look much less beefy than a standard EBMM bridge.

Sounds real good to me and my man is killing it!!! I still need to compare both the Ray 35 and the Ray 5 side by side. Very soon, I will own one of the two and right now, I'm leaning more toward the 35.

A real Stingray is worth it if you have the budget. If you don't want to invest as much cash, a good Ray35 will get you 95% of the Stingray sound.
