Yeah it got such bad reviews, but, the ol lady, her little 5 year old, and I all were entertained, can"t say that for many movies. We don't watch many action flicks so too me it was plenty fine for what I call popcorn flicks even a little better than average for that.
Ok, I'm really GASin for a 71 Chevy C-10. It's actually my dream truck.
Gonna start saving. It's time!

Nice, a guy in the town over from me, which I have to drive through, I live on a Pennisula, has an aweson C-10 with a custom sort of light lime green with a line of graphics along the bottom, stuns me every time I see it. But I don't by anything that isn't a four banger these days lol
Yeah, I have a Honda Wagon. That will be for my gas mileage. Sadly it's the fastest car I've ever had, gets the best gas mileage too. haha
My dads 72 Skylark was a fun car. First car I ever drove. Rust bucket. He took it to the track to race in points, he did well with that car. Pretty consistent.
He sold it to some dude, who wanted it just for the motor. The dude hopped in to drive it and put his foot thru the floor hahahaha

You can do it(imagine I said that with a creepy spanish voice for some reason). Just use the stock nut and don't cut down just take a little off each side of the notch in the nut, just until the string pops in tight. It's easy to use these needle files and they work on making the end of the bridge holes bigger too for the bigger string gauges.

Harbor Freight is awesome. Yeah, I can get the string in there with out taking it down, I always make them wide. Maybe it's just a case of the floppies... As there is way less definition compared to the other strings.
If you ever seriously contemplate the Nissan Xterras, go 2005 or later... they bumped from a 3.2 liter v6 to 4.0. Doubly so if you drive manual, the bigger engine gets a 6-speed manual (vs. 5 speed in the winky one) and is hella fun

This is definitely not the RIGHT way to do it but its what I do so I can only attest that it works.... I get a very sharp razor blade and shave small slivers off the outside of the nut groove until its just wide enough that the string settles down in. I've never had to grind downwards, only sideways... I've found the slightly higher action on the bigger strings just makes the final setup better. I'd be nervous to file the nut down, it still surprises me that Ric ships their basses with intentionally high nuts that are meant to be filed down in a proper setup. I know you guys love your Rics but they're just way too high maintenance for my tastes.

Work's almost done. I've been doing straight shots off mio energy water for the past hour. It's mixing with the saliva in my mouth but it burns your throat going in. Probably not the healthiest thing to do but it's getting me through the last bit of work. Meeting up with my guitarist buddy after work and checking out this band. It's been a while since I jammed with some guys with no game plan or real clue of what we're going to do. Should be interesting at least.

I really enjoyed the John Carter movie. I know it was kind of a flop at the box office but I thought it was a well done sci-fi movie.
So we were supposed to audition another drummer tonight, but the guy has flaked for a second time. Both times have been last minute, too. What a dick.
Oh well...gonna work on another demo track, and should have a buddy of mine trying out on Saturday. Known the guy for like 15 years and never played in a band with him. His style reminds me alot of JP from Clutch so I'm pretty excited about it.

So the toast specials handle bass frequencies a lot better than the Altec Lansing, but the highs of the Altec shimmer brilliantly, where as the toast specials are darker. I'm hoping they will be a good match once I make another 1x15 cab. It still sounds like its farting out or theres air rushing in and out of the cab or something, but I'm starting to think that may have something to do with the fact that the cab is pretty small and its sealed.

This is kinda nice...our guitar player of the last 4 years got voted #3 indie rock guitarist of all time...not bad
