Are you going to do a real dark stain on that?

- Yes I'm thinking something like Walnut. There were spots where the paint/ glue residue / general goo had actually absorbed into the wood. I'm anticipating that this residual darkness will end up adding depth to the finish if it doesn't totally thin out as I continue to finish sand it.

I'm also curious about this 810 restoration.

- Feel free to ask questions or follow the thread! I should be able to finish sanding it this week, maybe get to staining by the weekend!

Yeah, I noticed, that's why I asked. You might want to consider using a dark color grain filler before staining, if you're concerned about keeping the finish somewhat even looking with those dark patches. That way it's just adding depth the grain, instead of looking like blotches of dark.

Thanks Corey, I'll see how it goes as I continue sanding her down. If need be I'll pick up some grain filler when I'm getting my putty laid down before I start staining
