Stoner/Doom Bassists 53: Loud Noises

Ok so I am less of animal lover today, my girlfriend says I heard a terrible noise by your guitar gear so I shut the breaker off. After investigation I found out one of the free-roaming animals(cat, dog, or pig) decided to piss on the purge protector, Hopefully only the purge protector is shot. I liked it better when I only animals in terrariums, arghhh, women and their furry pets!!! Give me a reptile any day. I mean if they hated my playing that much, bite me, don't trash my gear lol. Aprils Fools Day went to April F Me Day. And to top it off the Sean Ryan Effects Green Russian Muff Clone came in the mail today!!!

This is why in our house I have all my gear in a room with a door that's always closed. Strict no animals policy, so of course everything with 4 legs in the house tries to get in the moment the door swings open. In our old condo I just had a nook with all my amps and instruments that weren't in a practice space stacked up in a corner next to a computer desk. Never have I had so much gear stained and shredded.

I gave a response in that thread late last night, suggesting he just find a different band that wants to do the same thing he does, instead of finding reasons to argue why the guitarist's creative opinion is wrong. No response whatsoever, a ton of people explaining why he shouldn't be using a certain tuning, because playing guitar low tuned is just playing bass (shut up forever if that's what you think bass playing is). I don't get why someone posting "guitarist wants me to do this thing, I really don't want to do it and it's frustrating" gets so many responses along the lines of "You're right, he's wrong, so make HIM do THIS!". That's like telling someone in a bad relationship that they should just be a dick back to their partner, out of spite, instead of just leaving and finding someone new that they get along with.

Yup the street dog pissed on my cabs way too much so if i'm not home the office door is shut.

being rational is obviously in short supply.

Not even worth taking the time to read that thread. I got about 5 posts in before stopped. I can barely look at any other thread on here without getting annoyed.

That being said, tuning to low F was the bane of my existence for the first 6 years Bongripper existed (it was my idea to do that tuning). It took me a long time to get the right bass/string/amp/cab/pedal combos.

Now that things are working great, naturally I ordered a new bass last night.

Well all the gear is ok, just lost and extension cord and a surge protector. I bought an old house, only the bathroom and entrance tot he house doors shut good lol. I do need to animal proof the stuff, someone block access by the animals. The Green Russian clone is cool, seems a bit deeper and darker than the Pickle Pie, interesting how the different muffs sound sound slightly different. On guitar instant Black keys tone on lower gain and higher gain gets pretty heavy, fun pedal.

I don't think the Pickle Pie is a muff clone. Pretty sure it is a Swollen Pickle clone.
