OK, now time for confession bear. Was thinking of taking my bass to a local artist and have them making an octopus themed image on my bass. Nothing airbrushed, or carnival looking.

Kraken rum is the "official booze" of Mariana, so I was thinking something along this type of design.

This is on a $500 bass...not damaging any classics.

Lol. Its our official rum too. Gotta love it when the guitarist wife comes home after we practice and sees us drinking it and just gets this "fml" look.

The octopus is an awesome and badass animal. If you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks anyways.

I can't drink rum. Still have a gag reflex from a rough incident when I was 18 and still learning to drink haha. But I can drink 100 proof bourbon like its water in a desert.

Got my amp back today. New tubes, and some parts replaced and some stuff resoldered. No longer makes weird popping noises and horrible feedback.

Thanks man, I can't wait to play it haha. They are humbuckers. EGC has done a lot of acrylic bodies with aluminum necks. There's a Mastodon sig V.

Awesome show, bands were BRUTAL.

First fight in the band, obviously over nothing.

But show was great, had the biggest crowd of the night and played first.

Heard our name on the local radio, and they said more than one word. Some along the lines of "VEGA, a new Milwaukee band", Ill take that as a win because they didnt just list us off as just another band.

That`s a really sharp(do people even say "sharp" any more?) stack you`ve got there dude! I love how Emperor`s look. Actually your whole rig is badass. I like your pedalboard set up along with that baritone V and Les Paul.
How thick is that B string on the V?

Has anyone play the reissue Gibson G-3, man they have a killer price, and they have a used one for killer deal. Just wondering how they compare to the old ones and are they light weight like the old ones.

I was SUPER tempted to buy one of these a few months back(but I didn`t,at least not yet). I heard the biggest difference between the 70`s original and this new tribute model is the placement of the 3 pups. On the new G-3 the pups are positioned in a more standard bridge,middle,neck fashion. Where as on the original the 3 pups are placed much farther back towards the bridge. The "neck" pup only goes as far as the center of the pick guard on the `70`s version(similar to a P bass`s placement). The pups themselves are completely changed as well. Bill Lawrence made the originals,which lent the G3 it`s unique sound. The new pups are Gibson single coils.

I remember seeing this bass a year or 2 after I started learning to play. I thought it looked pretty cool,enough to get me into SG/EB style basses. I wound up with a Epi EB-3 because it was what I could afford

I do on my OSD. But it's one of the few pedals I don't think needs it.

Do yourself a huge favor if you plan on adding blend controls. Put the money towards an Xotic X-Blender! I have one and it would be hard to overstate how friggin cool it is. Think of it as a force multiplier for any other pedals you own. Pedals that I just kinda like without come alive with new depth and tones. Plus, you will never have to worry about blend controls again.

The OSD sounds fine on its own, but GREAT blended with another pedal and clean signal. The Blender just adds a ton of versatility.

Agreed!! I love my X Blender. I like that it has that largish mix knob that you can tweak with your foot.

Nice Ric! Is white still a option now a days? It feels like I never see any white ones. My Ric is a Jetglo.

Now you need to start your training. Get a twenty pound weight, and hook it up to your bass strap. Shoulder that bad boy and never let em see you sweat. I had a chance to pick one of these basses up at a friend's show recently. It was solid alright, looked great and could be used as a boat anchor. I suppose it is something you just get used to. My P has spoiled me. I can't wait to hear how it SOUNDS man! You need to make a few sound clouds, because if it sounds half as good as it looks, you will have a keeper.

Well, I play a Peavey T-40 a lot, so nothing seems heavy after that

Typically his all aluminum designs fall in around 9lbs. Not going to lie mine is pretty heavy but I have a wood body
