Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread 29: "Please Huff Responsibly"

mc_muench said:
Was just thinking about this for the suitcase I picked up yesterday...

The Great Destroyer was great for that...

Any thing that can self oscillate is great for noise, and even better when combined with a filter like a xerograph deluxe and some delay. You may want to check out the ilovefuzz board, there is some random stuff on there from time to time, and those guys seem to like noise. Also look into circuit bent stuff and drone or Buddha boxes.

As far as pedals
Look at copilot's stuff I had an orbit for a while.
Look at eqd, and dwarfcraft's line too the great destroyer is a good one, I've been enjoying mine. Pm me and I'll record some noise clips later tonight or tomorrow.

Writing new songs by myself really makes it apparent that I need to practice playing guitar more. Not very high on my priority list, but it took me 1-2 takes to lay down a bass track and I got about 20+ takes in on trying to get guitars down last night, before I just put it down to go hang out with the wife.

Hey Dunwich or any other pedal gurus, I was wondering if there is such a pedal for just weird sounds or if one could be made? Like we have our little dronefeedback part in Dry Sea and I just want to be able to experiment with some different things (Moloch, still working on some noise stuff for you). Is there any just weird pedals that go bananas when you step on them?

INFANEM Second Voice. Mine as the Expression input. PM me if you want it

This thing is actually tempting of doing a Bill me later...I wonder if just making it a fretless would resolve the issues.

If you are gonna go and rip out the frets ( and basically butcher it ) you should just defret it level the board and refret it. I had to actually change the board out on one of my Rics because someone did a hack job defretting it. I'll try to post pics when I get home. It's not that hard if you have the tools but it is a pain.

Well Corey, I got your Rat Tail in a roundabout fashion. Just bought it from the guy you sold it to, and it was sent back to Ryan for a feedback footswitch :)

Ha, I actually traded it and now I'm selling the delay pedal I traded for it. Not that it's not good, I just ran out of room and the preamp Nick is designing for me is going to take up a lot of space. So I need something smaller.

This thread is turning into the online version of a local music scene. We'll all have owned all of each others gear eventually :p

I was just talking to my buddy who has made and modded tons of pedals for me about how I bought and sold the Rat Tail and he said "You don't buy boutique pedals man, you call me and I'll make whatever you want!". I had to remind him that I would totally do that, if he didn't take 6 month breaks from making pedals here and there :p

So anyone here want a Boost DLA Tap Tempo? Let the gear incest continue.

I've got Corey's RT, swspier's volume pedal, and Balog has my RB950. Not to mention I've basically found all of toastfuzz's gear for him ;)

I feel like such an important part of music history, too :D

Just got done with a screaming practice with my Carvin B1500. Dudes, this thing was MADE for distortion and fuzz. I've had a lot of gear over the years, but I have seriously never experienced anything like what this SS monster brings to the table in combination with my fEARful 1212/6/1.

The Drive doesn't really do much, hence the reputation for being sterile, I guess. But fvking A, this head blasts the fuzz like nothing else I've ever heard!
