Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I got a used new one. Its pretty damn good. The build quality, like all musicman stuff, is excellent. The neck is beautiful. It does a great Stingray tone, with the single coil added to the rear its very rounded stingray. Im not crazy about the front pickup or single coil alone really, but then I usually dont like those on any bass, so..... Its similar in tonal palette to the Stingray 4 HH, but slightly different with the subtle differences in coil selection and a 2 band eq. Overall, I like it alot.. whether it stays and becomes a "main player" is yet to be seen.
. I have this weird GAS for a old one or a older l2000. I don't really need either since my jazz with dimarzio model j's and a j retro is probably just as good or better.
Just joined Facebook and created a gear/musicians classifieds for my town. Let's see what becomes of it.
Yeah, never seen that show before. I feel like a lot of American musical companies are in the same boat. Most get absorbed by the bigger 2. I think peavey is one of the last best. Nothing like airing your dirty laundry all over TV. Almost no amps are US made anymore, and only the most boutique instruments seem to be any step above imports and of the same model. I'm guilty of buying the cheapest thing out their. And the only substantial American made purchase I've made was my Carvin bass. Sigh.
GK is still American made, and I'm rocking them on my bass rig! My guitar rig is all US made Peaveys, so I'm good. As far as my actual basses/guitars go, they're all foreign Ibanez... But I think most my pedals are American made! Except my Joyo, I guess, and the iStomps are likely made overseas. (Even my B3K is American!)

I made it. Turned out pretty good, although it's a little short on output power. I wanted to see how far I could get using a cheap Antek toroid power transformer. It benches out to 116W at onset of clipping, 160W dimed. It really should be 150W before clipping. Oh well, it sounds nice, is super small and easy to carry, and its got plenty of sauce for Hex Volt.

Peavey did look quite douchy on that show. At least there is always Traynor 
Routed for their standard pick up placement, or the NG-2 placement. All the combustions come with that body routing now.
All their bodies are CNC'd now I believe. Makes manufacturing over seas way more consistent than it has ever been. Less particulars means less screw ups, and better prices. In 2014 Dingwall actually lowered the price of the base combustion by $100. Not many companies can make that kind of a pricing claim.
