Muddslide - I don't think anyone in here uses multi effects units. I don't think that they're necessarily all terrible or sound like crap, but I just don't think that many folks here use them.

If I were forced to use one I'd get a boss ME50B or GT-10B. A lot of people on other parts of TB like the Zoom B3.

The Joyo suggestion is a good one, you can get enough of those to put together a killer pedalboard for less than what you'd pay for a nice Multi-FX.

Ultimate Drive > American Sound > Digital Delay > Flanger/Phaser would be an awesome little board. Even the UD is optional, as the American can get really awesomely dirty if you want it to.

I appreciate that. And I understand people here not using multi-fx units. Most of the ones I've had or played through do bring the suck.

I am beginning to think I may just get a Muff of some kind and piss on other effects. Maybe a decent delay. I haven't gigged in years, although I hope to do so again someday. But I've always been a pretty straightforward, caveman-type player. I may be trying to get fancier than I need to.

We don't have nearly enough. I know lots of areas have it much worse. Just not used to being stuck in my house for probably 3 days and not being able to leave. Pretty sure my gig tonight is canceled. Not sure about tomorrow's gig. The heater core went out in my truck, which just adds to the fun

Heavy is such a subjective term. I don't see how anything can be the heaviest. I find Yob's Atma to be one of the heaviest records I've heard.

So My try-out Sunday went better than I could have hoped. Just 3 hours of Sabbath-y jamming. The drummer and I really clicked, we were throwing odd times and grooves at each other like crazy and giggling the whole time. We flat out lost the guitar player a few times. So we'll see how that develops. It's more of a jamming/writing project right now, but I will be pushing for a live set ASAP.

Also as much as I want new cabs, I was recently told by a friend of my lead guitar player(a former bassist in a past band) that I am incredibly loud on stage. Has me thinking that maybe some of my volume issues are in part due to my damaged hearing.

Granted, I've only seen you guys twice, but unless this guy went to different shows, I am not seeing you being TOO loud. Still, getting ones ears checked is never a bad plan.

Cabs may be questionable, but if the drivers are in good shape, 400 seems a reasonably good price for just the speakers yeah?

I'd probably go with a Line 6 M5 (One effect at a time) or M9 (3 effects). I own an M13, and have owned an M9, and the sounds and user friendliness are great. Drives can be a bit tricky, but the ones set up for bass all have a clean blend at least.

Or go the Joyo route, reasonable pedals for a reasonable price, lets you experiment and see what you like.

Yeah, Current 93 is a whole different type of heavy.

Not to try and have a "Heavy-off" but I honestly think some of the heaviest stuff I ever heard were some demos by the band Bloody Panda. They were on their website years ago and I downloaded 'em and burned them off to CD, but I lost all my stuff in a flood a few years back, so they're gone now.

I've searched around for them on YT and other places, but can't find those demos anywhere. I like some of the other Bloody Panda tracks I've heard, but none of them compares to those demos.

You haven't seen me with my full rig yet. I would venture to say that I was louder at the Jucifer show with my 215 than at the Crack Fox with that weak set of Hartke cabs. Add an 810e to the mix and its a lot louder. I have also been playing with my sound split via ABY to my Ampeg (which would be bridged) for relative cleans and my Eden to the 215 with my dirt running to it. I can get my tone sounding awesome in my living room, but getting the volumes somewhat matched in 10 seconds on stage will be a challenge. I am thinking I may still run the SVT parallel to both cabs for this show. Wish I had a place to sound check my whole rig at performance volume.

I am passing on the cabs, not enough capital and to much GAS for other gear.

He swears he got stuff sorted out so we can play every Tuesday. Hope he doesn't screw this up.

My drummer is also back! Is there some sort of drummer ESP or something? Was there a convention that they're all ashamed of attending? Just happy to have a full band again. We'll be jamming tomorrow, for the first time in months!

What was the brand of ear plugs you were using?

I use the regular Ear peace. The are super comfortable and do a good job. Seeing Jucifer was the only time my ears were left ringing while wearing the plugs.

I thought it was. I think they keep track of how much you buy, like with psuedophed - but as long as you're not cooking Walter White style I think you're good.
