Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Eye, ask yourself, is this bass special to me? My first bass is. I'll never get rid of it.

If you do sell and don't NEED the money, treat your loved ones. Go out of town and do something fun. Orlando? Cruise? Memories with family are more valuable anyways!
I agree with the 1st bass thing. I'll never sell it. It's not a spectacular bass, I only play it a handful of times a year, and I might eventually make it a mod platform, but I'll never sell. Means too much sentimentally. My other basses, those are more utilitarian choices. I might sell one in the future, just depends what I want/need at the time and if that bass is doing anything for me. Of course, right now, 2 of my 3 basses are the same bass in a 5 and 6 string setup, so I could get rid of one and not really miss it. I don't do weird tunings or anything to need 2 identical basses. Anyway, I feel like I'm ranting. Done.

Combine those ideas, film it and release it as a music video snuff porn. You'll be more metal than Count Grishnakh.
It's Grishnackh. Jeez. Plebian. But let's be honest, does anyone really WANT to be more metal than him? I mean, sane people. The kind who don't want to get locked up and be rightfully ostracized by society for their ever-changing but consistently racist views. Just a thought. I enjoy the music for what it is, but can't really support the guy's actions AT ALL.

Bryce you're in my head man. I was at Sam Ash today and was looking at the pedals and noticed that new Bad Stone then jumped on here to catch up and saw you mentioning it.
While in Richmond I was hoping all day the dude with the 400RB was going to text and say I am available now, come pick it up.

You get to try it? This demo sold me.

Yeah, he also got in trouble for hate speech or something. Not exactly a "family-friendly" fellow.

Well if a family is melanin and brain cell deficient they might get along swingingly.

Hmm... Guess now we have two shows on the horizon. One May 9th and June 20th. Were on a good pace to nail the set with the new guitar player so looking forward to it. 9th is going to be backlined by the host band... I get to run my board to the 2 ampeg 810 on either side of the drum riser and the guitars get 2 stacks a piece. Should be fun.

No I didn't ask to try it out. I never tried but I noticed the Boss PH-3 Phasers have an input that can do tap tempo or expression sweep. Kind of want to try one out now and they are cheap used too.
I know you dig the Violin basses. I diddled a Hofner and the Epiphone. Liked the build quality and feel of the Epi better. It felt less like a toy to me. I liked the normal style Volume Volume Tone setup on the Epi too.

This is it..
yes, it may be shallow to love a bass for the way it looks... but damn..I think it looks GOOD!

you know, its weird. NORMALLY, and with EVERY OTHER bass I have or ever bought, Im totally in the "woodgrain or black" camp. I have two jazzes. One is natural wood grain and one is mahogany. My stingrays are one in black one in natural. I usually hate anything flashy or 'special' in a finish, but something about this just said Mad Max Doom Gear and I couldnt resist.

jammed with two girls that are friends tonight. We all had fun now at a show with them. Jamming again next Thursday.

We got three outlines to songs my friend played for us so that's fun. It's simple rock, but dang I've wanted to be in a girl rock band just as much as I've wanted to do something doom so yay me if they stay commited.

I agree. I like funky finishes on other people's instruments sometimes, but over the years I've found that the only instruments I like for myself, or tend to keep around are black, natural, sunburst or of white. Some would say boring. It's just what I prefer to own and play.

But man, that Warwick, if you had described it to me I don't think it would grab me, but seeing it, it is actually awfully damn cool. I can see why you are stuck.

Don't matter what your playing mon... Rip it up.

For sure! I hyped them up enough we will jam tuesday instead to keep up momentum.

Glad I have an entire setup in my bedroom so only the guitarist needs to bring her guitar everything else is there already. She's using a kurt cobain mustang my musician head into the two 4x10 columns and I have the bronco into the rockmaster into the dually.

Need to play with it more, but the rockmaster is way louder, cleaner and bass heavy than expected. Works for what we were doing, but I was hoping for a Lemmy tone to be achieved.
