So yesterday I said screw it and told work to sod off. Hopped in the Caymen with my dad and drove to Detroit. White castle for lunch,
Huber and Breese for some rare gear shopping, afternoon out on a friend of my dads boat for beers and fishing, peel and eat shrimp at the marina. Not a bad way to take a day off.
At H&B they had an amazing selection of gear, the new Orange amps, Aguilar, Mesa tube amps, a bunch of non sh!tty basses. I was excited to play the Ibanez fanned fret bass they had. It is a really nice bass. Neck feels great, finish is superb, playability is decent, short scale (35") with a mild fret fanning.
Just couldnt get the bartolini's and the active pre amp to sound like anything I would use. So even though the Ibby is a little less price wise than a combustion, the savings would be scrapped as I would have to replace all the electronics. Now if they cam out with an affordable 4 stringer....
