So over the last few months I've been testing this coupon code I have for this place down the street and it still works. Gives me two 1/4 chickens, 4 sides, two rolls, drinks and sauces for between $5.40 and $6.58 depending on who rings it up.

Wow you sure got your hands full of delay! I had the Flashback it was pretty cool. Yeah slap it on Reverb. A Strymon! fancy!
Best Tele I had was a 90's USA Peavey Reactor. Keep the stock bridge pup(It Rawks!) and slap a Dimarzio Twang King in the neck, you're golden! You can find them dirt cheap too. I will own another someday, but lately I have been forgoing the sixers to concentrate more on the longnecker's.

Good to know re: Peaveys. I had a MIM a few years back, popped a GFS Mini hum in the neck, was a great guitar, but was focusing on bass and we were gearing up to record, so i sold it and bought a microphone, anticipating getting a US or ASAT. Well, here we are, 4 years later.....

Yeah that Reactor is a sleeper, great build quality. The dude's on TDPRI rave on them and rightfully so.

Yeah, I've never bypassed ALL vol/tones on a guitar, but why not?

You could do this and still have a functioning pickup selector, right?

In the past I've bypassed the tone knob on some basses and wired straight to the jack. Just used amp settings in place of the onboard tone knob.

Might be my imagination, but doing this always seemed to "open up" the sound of the bass somehow. Less resistance due to one less pot maybe?

Awright, man! Happy for you. Pain relief is such a great thing. Again, I don't get chronic migraines (which, along with maybe acute back or tooth problems may be THE worst kind of pain IMO) but I do suffer from chronic pain and I know you understand--you get to that level of pain or have endured it so long that you forget what it feels like NOT to have it. Like "What is normal, again?"

Glad you are getting a break from it, and holding good thoughts that it is an endless break.

Grails--check. Good call. Can't go wrong there.

Fear and Loathing--check. Great book, great movie. "There he goes...one of god's own prototypes..."

And I love me some old Doctor Who. I grew up with Tom Baker, but I dig the earlier ones too. My daughters got really into the reboot of it with David Tenant and all...I've seen some of those and some of them are pretty damn good.

Yes--covering the theme would be completely kickass.

Yeah that's it. I love that little bugger on both bass and guitar. Gain at 11:00 and the tone around 12:30/1:00 is what I was rocking this morning. Pushing the gain on it sounds better then pushing the gain on the TB500 to me.

Thanks Brother! I am relishing the break in the pain, it's like being reborn, I haven't felt like myself in years. I hope it lasts. It was turning me dickish at home, like a dog in pain will bite you though it's not mad at your and is not a mean dog because it just wants to be left alone, so nice to enjoy the family again. Damn that sounds awful doesn't it LOL.

I completely understand. I've had to put forth a great deal of effort over the past few years not to change over-much. Try to keep my sense of humor and not get too wound uptight. I want to still be the man my wife fell in love with and my kids grew up with. Physical pain obviously takes its toll on your mental health also. It's one form of stress compounding another, which in turn compounds the other, etc. in a vicious cycle.

Scary thing for me lately--having so much pain in my hands. It comes and goes, and moves around from, say, my knuckles to the pads of my thumbs, but it's getting to be something that's always there. My big fear is that my days of playing string instruments may be limited.

Re: pain. I busted my lower back by mostly sitting and working for the last 5 years. I have to watch while lifting heavier things or I spend next week in bed not able to move. I changed my lifestyle some time ago, started to exercise more etc, but last week I overstretched some tendon in my back and foot while stretching after a 3 mile run and off to the pain city I go :D It's going away now, but I really have to watch out.

Also, Southern Lord opened a European internet store at last. Bought the first High on Fire reissue on double clear vinyl. Those little things in life :)

If I was on a multi-day eyestabber it would make even my skin hurt to the touch, like I couldn't handle a sheet touching my skin, so I would be moving every time family or pets would get near me and forget about sharing the arm rest in the car with the passenger, I would be looking for a passenger eject button on my car.
What was kind of funny is how much I got to dreading physical conversations, I am always going to some get together of my GF's family and I would say what is wrong with those people all they do is run their mouths, don't they ever relax and sit and just chill out, and my ol' lady would be no it's you, you hate talking since the migraines got worse ha ha ha.
