Queens of the Stone Age ended up with the bulk of the white Ampeg gear that was made for Rod Stewart. They toured with it in the Rated R era. There's some good live videos out there with the all white Ampeg backline.

Well, some how I've managed to play for 7 years without ever actually buying a strap, just using ones that came with the instruments. So I thought, "Imma buy the doomiest strap ever."

Couple albums in the 90s. Sort of a joke glam rock band, but very good. Rock and fvcking roll. Faded pre-internet and just kinda fell through the cracks. Fun stuff...I hardly know anyone who's even heard of them.

The recent spate of amp thefts worries me. Amps are really heavy and so not as appealing to thieves as instruments... so the thieves must know what they're doing.

never had one either. Blue beards my only "boutique" pedal. Had an oxfuzx via trade but traded it away. Sounded gross on the amp I had at the time.

Edit: Boss feedbacker distortion, that's one. But if I remember reviews here on TB suggested it didn't work right on bass.

I've got a few "boutiques", but in many cases they go for some wild sounds on fuzz. I find I don't want wild fuzz, but I don't want just low end either. I've been on a quest to find "the fuzz" for my sound forever. So far, I'm digging the GK Rails for fuzz, but the lows aren't quite 100% there. Of course, I need to try it in a (more competent) band context, so it's tough to find out. I love its grind, but prefer the Pharaoh's rumbly lows. Thinking I might get a Musket soon.

I want the lows of the blower box without the (and I may be alone with this opinion) corny distortion that you just can't work out of the sound of no matter how many different gain stages.

I should clarify though. I don't think the Blower box is corny sounding, I just didn't like that it made everything sound like the blower box when it was in the chain and on, no matter what. Killed the versatility for me. 'Twas a cool trick it did do though.
