Still doesn't make it worth double cause someone sprayed the pots out. Peavey will forever be cheap if you just look. And the good part is most are built like tanks. You shouldn't have to pick up the cost of the idiot paying $200 on labor charges, ridiculous.
*** did dingus pay $250 for? I paid $25 for a new pot/jack (don't recall which now) on my F800 when I first got it in '13.

Yeah $30 in parts the rest labor. They replaced a couple caps and transistor but my guy wouldn't charge that ridiculous amount.
Thanks mang. It's pretty cool to have my first bass back in the rotation and sounding/looking great. Learned to play on it, first band with it, first gig with it, etc. etc. Dem nostalgia toanz!

I agree, just because the guy overpaid for a servicing doesn't mean he should expect to see all that money come back in the form of what somebody else is willing to pay. Yakima is definitely not Seattle, but it seems he's hoping to get Amazon/Google-salaried ironic hipster Seattle money for that rig, almost understandable since he paid Seattle tech money and then some to have it gone over.
I wouldn't say it's really worth $550, but a clean freshly serviced vintage Peavey rig (pretending for a moment it's actually in Seattle) in Seattle is going to be fetch a lot more than the same rig, dusty & moldering with a blown fuse, in the basement of a rural Mississippi church.

If interested I make a "sinning bag" basically a large duct tape sleeping bag to keep premarital and extramarital affairs on the down low with the guy up high.
I'll take the Mississippi church rig and watch a movie while spending some quality time cleaning and getting to know my new setup. That's why I'll never take gear to a tech unless I absolutely want to keep it. Most repairs cost too much to pay someone.
Worst offender is the guy who buys a Squier then pays a guy to pimp it out then posts it with an itemized list of labor and parts that prove his $100 guitar is really a $1,000 custom piece.
I am curious now how much we've influenced prices on certain "budget brands".
I only have the aforementioned Yeti Metal (sold my Hail Satan) but I ordered the God Botherer fuzz/phaser. Interesting 2-for-1 and it's supposed to do well on bass. I may also check the FZ-2 clone if that gets rolled out; that's supposed to have separate foot switches for fuzz 1 and fuzz 2.
I wonder that too. A few years ago my buddies and I would always go to this dollar store and buy insanely cheap knock off cheese doodles featuring "Reggie Wedgie", the cheese wedge. We ate them while nerding out on D&D and other board games. Anyway, soon enough, the price creeped up to a whopping $1.10 from $1.00. Pretty sure I created a false demand for that product. And then, once it was over one dollar, I refused to buy it. It's a DOLLAR STORE. My principles wouldn't allow me to pay more than a dollar for anything there. I mean, a man's gotta have principles, right?
You also don't **** with a man's cheese doodles. I mean poopie, this is America.
I just called my ISP (charter for my STL hermanos) and told them I wasn't going to pay the rate they upped me to after my year long promo. They promptly dropped me back to the promo price.
In other news, still receiving BS commitments on my "boutique" pedals. Problems or not, it's a ****ing muff clone. I could get that banged out in an hour or two. Really tempted to file a claim with PayPal for goods paid for and not delivered and shuffle that money over to fuzzrocious and be assured that I will see the box. I'd feel better about supporting Ryan anyway.
Peep the Magic Pedals Magick Fuzz. It slays. I picked on up off KZR recently, then used it on guitar for some recordings and it sat on a shelf. Almost sold/traded it a few times but never sealed a deal. Then it finally made it to the bass board and I was blown away. I'll include that when I made a demo track of the Black Beauty tonight. It's seriously ruthless.
I have been super intrigued by the Magick Fuzz. I almost jumped on one of the last production runs, but decided it wasn't the best financial choice at the time. I would be anxious to hear it through GZRs. Could you do some low gain settings as well? I know thats against the S/D groups general MO but I like to stack my fuzzes without it going into fart territory. I am also really interested in some of Dunn O))) effects stuff. He is a local guy who is appears to be gaining a legitimate following. He does a rams head clone, that I think he told me was originally based on a Bluebeard that he calls the Black Beard. He has invited me over a couple times to check out his studio but I just haven't had the time. He does have a killer collection of old amps though.
I've been looking at fuzz lately, had the DUNN O))) Blackbeard in the cart a few times just not sure about it on bass.

I mean it is a muff. I cannot imagine it NOT being rad on bass. Also that promo code has me super super tempted.
That Fury is scheduled to land tomorrow. I adjusted the delivery location to the local Fedex depot so that I wouldn't have to wait all day and I can just swoop on over after work. Should be a delightful morning.
