SS Lo-Riders on my P basses and my 1/2 step down tuned Ric.
Hi-Beams on my Js and C# tuned Ric. I used to use nickel lo-riders on the Js when i was using the ampeg 810. with the 215s the nickel mids are just too much.

Yeah still rocking the 810 so still leaning toward the Nickel lo riders if I can find them. Other wise I may break into this set of DR DDT I have. My basses are old and the frets are pretty worse for the wear.

Pulled my bass-modded DS-1 off the shelf last night and jammed it for about half an hour using the T40. Lots of sounds. It's always fun to "rediscover" something that's sat unused for a while.

That was me with the Bluebeard which actually just got bumped again for the grey stache

Still need to restring the SG and size it up, I bought the strings and lost them. Just found them but gotta get ready to go to work.

The job is kind of weird, I'd most likely remain where I am. Where I'd work is a mystery. post phone interview, I have to take exams, and case study interviews. Then once hired it's two years of training, where I could be anywhere from my home to another country during the week, doing any number of things in a number of fields.

It's consulting so I have to be experienced in many situations. The concept seems cool, and it pays 5-7 times what I make now.

Not as serious, but there are opportunities to work with them or other agencies.

Edit: If it pays and is just as stable as other sectors I'd prefer the hospitality or entertainment sector. Consulting on luxury hotels and casinos could potentially be very awesome, if I get to test the facilities so to speak.

clones/variations of two different versions of the muff but i can't remember which ones exactly. the GS has more top end/high mids and sounds tighter to me than the BB.

Looks familiar maybe it's a standard size like a tele control plate (get a gfs blank one then)

Otherwise I'd ask him to fab one, or get paper and put it over cavity then pencil rub a trace to cut one from.

He suggested to buy some plastic sheeting and cut it out from that. Not sure how to make that nice though. I wonder if they make any pickup trim rings for p bass pups?

Several places used to carry the chrome metal rings for p and j, just checked and all are now missing or listed discontinued... Though they were like $30 a piece

So we played a very short set in Oakland tonight.

Did you know that fog machines can set off fire alarms?

Because I didn't.

Depends on the sensitivity of the smoke detection. I had to have them disabled in one of my old Data Centers so I'm not rolling trucks at 2am. Dust and vibration was the culprit (depending on proximity) in this case. Any time a SOW came up with Hammer Drill involved we pulled them offline at the panel.
Funny part since North had keys on stage I though the fire alarm beeping was part of their song. Shame they only got to play one.

Thanks for looking, I noticed that they are all discontinued too. I will just mount them with some weather stripping under them.

Got me thinking. I currently have:

Black Sovtek (modded)
Green "Tall Font" Sovtek
Bluebeard (w/tone bypass switch)
Magick Fuzz
Swollen Pickle
Blackbeard (ordered)

Don't have the Blackbeard yet so I can't comment on it. Of the others, my "current" favorite is the Magick Fuzz b/c the low end is solid and it has a killer mids control. The Tall Font Sovtek and Swollen Pickle have the most low end, IMO. My Black Sovtek has a clean blend which sounds awesome with, say, a BDPG (or chorus) in front of it. The Bluebeard is easiest to dial in a good sound with, just switch to tone bypass and vol/dist to taste.

Edit: Next muff I may try is a Musket. Muffs I've sold off are: Russian Spy (miss this one ), El Oso, Fender Sublime, EHX NYC Big Muff, EHX Bass Big Muff.

Reading articles about the musicmaster amp are hilarious as people complain about the sheer volume these 12 watt things produce lol.

One guy said his drummer complained it was excruciating to be behind its open back and couldn't compete...So I assume this guys drummer must just clap his hands.

Another guy claimed he had to sell it because it was too loud for any club in LA?

It's pretty cool, and dead simple inside. Weirdly they based the amp around like fenders worst speaker, then decided to make a bass amp. First step high pass directly on input to cut all low end to support the crappy speaker.

I'm torn between leaving stock and flipping, using it to practice on a p2p amp then keeping it, or selling it modded as it's cheap enough to do that if a modded one has any draw to it.
