Same. I usually have my phone somewhere nearby and I can jsut record a quick voice memo of the riff so I can remember it later.

Lyrics...eh, yeah, I have notebooks full of interesting phrases and lines, but not many completed songs. I usually just think they sound lame, but you know, you're your own worst critic, right?>

LOL Toyota is getting pegged with questions about how ISIS is getting so many brand new custom Toyota tacomas (the chief vehicle of both insurgency and counter insurgency groups going back to the mujahideen). And this is the new Tacoma Ad they choose to run.

Tacomas rushing through the desert amid explosions and a hummed version of ride of the Valkyries... lol some marketing guys getting fired in the next 14 days me thinks.

I don't even smoke that much nowadays, it's just that I work from home and listen to music almost all the time, riffs tend to escape me pretty quickly.
And yeah, it's pretty good ;)

I used to do the same, but stopped when my playing was put on hiatus some 8 years ago. Before that, scrapbook after scrapbook of lyrics. Now I struggle for weeks to write 8 lines that I like.

As for riffs, I record most of the stuff I come up with, but half of that is usually crap and I delete it. Some of the rest I take to the practice, but rarely something sticks. It usually mutates into something completely different and is used in completely different place and manner than I originally thought.

Lordamighty. Wow man. Just gorgeous. These fall into the category of basses that aren't really up my alley or instruments I personally desire to own and play, but which are just undeniably badass and beautiful and cool as all hell. Nice pic.

Happy Friday, dudes. ATW, Kadavar and Sword were all great last night. I wasn't familiar with ATW and enjoyed their set, very good groove with that band. German band Kadavar was a powerhouse (I snapped a couple pics of their monster backline). The Sword played a great set with plenty of old material. The new stuff, while sounding good live, definitely lacks the power of the old stuff. My inner Geddy fanboy was fired up to see/hear/feel a Moog Taurus going on many tracks, both old & new. Sword's just a tight as hell band of pros and it's fun to watch them work. I only caught about 2/3 of Sword's, though, because I ended up in the back by the bar/merch area talking rigs with Kadavars bassist. Dude was very friendly and seemed to have as much passion for gear as us nerds. :p We started talking cabs and he was fired up when I mentioned a 3620. Gear is the universal language. Needing a little extra coffee this morning.

I recommend you never try one.

Before I tried one, I assumed the same thing. I didnt think they were for me, or that I would want one. Then I played one, and I had palpable disdain for my Stingray and BFR. I have not touched my Jazz or P bass since I got my AB1 either. I sold off my Musicmen.

I am really looking forward to getting my Combustion back. Will give me 1995, 2004, and 2015 production years.

The Super J and Super P are 2" shorter scale length for those used to something more diminutive in their hands. 32" scale on the high string side.

Actually the fanned fret ergonomics help a lot with shoulder and tendinitis issues.

I kind of want a reverse SPJ5, but get torn over the SJXXX.

No sadly I roll orphan style and just have Netflix for tv. Been burning through the Circus season and loving it.
What kind of freaked me out was them basing it out of Jupiter in Florida. I worked as a mail inspector for a few years at a state prison and during the holidays we would get some temp help. We hired this one guy who was a bit off, and kind of creepy to be around, almost like he wanted you to be uncomfortable around him. He always talked about this town in Florida where freaks can go live and be accepted, and how he wants to move there. I can't get through an episode without being reminded of him. Maybe Elsa Mars took him under her wings or behind her wooden legs.

Well there was some pictures my boss had that showed true prison pen pal romance. An old skinny white guy buck naked with a cowboy hat and a black guy on a couch with a cucumber pegging him and written below on the polaoid it said Oh I'm Scared. So yeah not much fun stuff came in, usually trashy gross women, no hotties like Moth Girl :) The best part was getting paid to look through porn mags to make sure there was no violence and rape scenes in it. Word of advice, never commit a crime that you would have to do state time for, your arse will thank you. I have seen new inmates doing the fresh fish anal stitch shuffle in the halls.
