Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

See any lizards or snakes? I would love to see a Gila Monster or a Chuckwalla in the wild.

I killed a rainbow colored lizard on accident... That's about all. Too cold I guess (not really cold though), I was climbing a rock face and a shard broke and the lizard was under neath and was taken with it.

These are my buddies as of this morning. Hang out right at the yard, eat cactus like its nothing... But I was feeding them fruit salad and having them follow me around. They don't like kiwi fruit. But the rest is all good by them.

Yeah, Javalinas are NO JOKE if theres a group of them. When I was camped out it Arizona I had to fend off about 30 of em with flaming sticks!!!
Seriously. I was camped in Broken Arrow canyon and a group of about 30 came down the canyon right toward my campsite one night. They surrounded me and were getting real scary. I grabbed two flaming branches out of my fire that were about 4 or 5 feet long and had a Brendan Frazier style standoff where Im circling around like some doofus in The Mummy twirling flaming pikes at them until they left. Im sure if anyone was watching they wouldve died laughing.

but... in packs they can and will take a man down.

Yeah, I had a pissed off one come attack our rental car way the hell out in BFE Arizona. Askrere's buddies are concerning because they're not afraid of people. They can and will shag your poopie up. Then eat you. Bones and everything.

???

Just get a P-bass, damnit.

I spent a lot of time and money buying, swapping, selling and basically trying all kinds of things just to come back to that. To make that realization,. It just works for me. Not the only bass out there, but it's really all I ever need. Boring old man, me.

@Muddslide what are they asking?

Javalinas--I know guys in Texas who hunt these things with knives. They wait up in trees until a pack of them moves through, then they jump out of the trees and knife 'em to deadness. Or try to.

Javelinas are dangerous, but it's whatever, I named the nicer one Javiera. She wanders around following you when you wander about. Closest I got was maybe 3-4 feet away. My theory when they were by the yard, was if they charge, I'll dive in the pool. When I was out in the scrub with them, I just moved slow.

These seemed less burly and tusky. Almost like their mom died and they grew up scavenging around humans. No pack, just two skittish yet curious ones. Reminded me of timid lost dogs.

I'm with you guys on the p bass thing. The sound I have been getting out of this cheap Crate P bass into 2 Vulcans and 3 18s with the DOD Overdrive Plus IS the tone in my head. EVEN more so than my T45, all my effects and PVYHenge I use for GH. It makes me wonder why I run it all and obsess over trying to make it sound good. I fore see some serious tone reworking ahead, back to basics.

Don't see it in the US website... I don't care for the headstock.

That's what I'm saying.

I want that sabre

I'm too cheap for real P bass, so I made my own...

No SVT either, I have to get by with this little guy...

This post is confusing. Too cheap for a P bass with an incredibly expensive handmade custom tube head. The contradiction makes me lol. Of course I can't knock Mr. Grumpy. That amp gives me wet dreams.

I used to have one identical to that. Awesome bass and that's a great price

And it is still mine and will be for a long time. If I had the money I'd love to add that T40 to my stock as well.

Work was very intense today. A lot of huge frozen production to knock out before the holiday and pressure to get out of the way for the grocery bread production in the evening. It's their biggest night of the year. I and the rest of the AM supervisors got our asses chewed out pretty good for some significant shag ups. We pulled it together though. We also apparently made someone quit today. I guess they should get out of the bakery if they can't take the heat, but it's a big loss.
