Yeah it was one of the Elder Giants. There can't be very many of those in circulation so I would think it could turn up somewhere.

People, Sorry to interrupt, but I have a question that you may clarify for me. I'm playing in a Stoner rock/Doom metal band(mainly stoner). I sorta play "lot" effects. I use a Vintage precision bass, into a blended signal with this pedals, VT Bass -> Bassballs -> Bluebeard -> Cry Baby -> Phase 90 -> Soul Vibe -> Carbon Copy. Into a Orange terror bass, with several ampeg cabs.
My question is, it's worthy to add a flanger? to add some "crazy" monster magnet'esque sounds? In case of positive answer, Is the MXR Micro Flanger OK with bass, I don't have the posibility to try before purchasing.

Nice. I don't have much use for a flanger right now, but I can see the appeal.

This is the wrong group to ask if adding another pedal makes sense. In fact if you ask that type of question, I'm sure you'll get a bunch of confused responses as to what "worthy to add (insert name of any pedal)" means. LOL.

They should just rename this thread "The Pedal Junky Thread". LOL

But seriously, will a flanger be used without a lot of the other effects? If not, it may just end up kind of washing out all the other effects and make it more blurry than anything else.

I'm not a pedal junky. I've only got three besides my tuner right now.

Thinking about swapping out the Big Muff for a Swollen Pickle, though. The Big Muff is only really usable for me if I'm doing the whole fuzz+wah thing.

I propose that we all spam that dumble doosh with lowball offers and ridiculous trades.

Well guys, it's finally happened. Our demo/1st album is up on Bandcamp.

It's been 15 months since we tracked and a what a long, arduous process it's been. I'm not totally pleased with the end result, but considering the circumstances it's pretty good. It's a document of the time - the band has gotten tighter, we've all picked up better-sounding gear and the new songs we're working on are head and shoulders above the old stuff.

What is it with people who make fake Ricks and putting the bridge pickup waaaaay too close to the bridge? It's completely inaccurate and looks like poopie. If they're going to go to the trouble of doing 33.25" scale, they may as well get the pickup location right. It's not that damn hard. Also, the tendency towards really square, blocky pickup covers. What the crap is that? Looks dumb.

i was thinking earlier - we have a sound guy that is super awesome that we use sometimes, and he's been using a method that i questioned earlier but now think is rad. he runs a speaker cable from the back of my head, through a DOD 260 DI, then another speaker cable into the cab. the XLR out is then sent straight to the desk.
i was enjoying the results - nice cheap way to make a DI not sound like absolute poopie with fuzz. if i was to purchase one of the DOD 260 boxes, how do i successfully not explode the desk the signal is sent to?

my end game is to have a preamp unit built with a DI/speaker sim built in, but this might make a good stopgap for those sound guys that don't have an extra mic for the bass cab(s).

this is probably the most logical idea as i can use a mic for a lot more than a DI box. gassing for a Heil PR40 (don't you have one of those?) after some studio experience. $$$

Yeah PR40 is my go to. I even took it to the studio when we recorded our last two albums. Thinking of picking up an AKG P2 for live use though. It's cheap enough that I don't have to worry too much about it.

Got to try out the cab in a full band mix tonight. Sounds great, I bet if my Vulcan was more watts I'd be able to just run that cab against two full stacks, but it only being 250watts, still loud as shvt though, I need to run a second cab. Not like that's a problem anyway.

How are you liking the vp1? I got one with a busted switch coming in the mail. Going to give it a new switch, true bypass wiring and see how i like it.

It's a EHX copy and it has been extremely reliable. My guitar player has the Russian EHX and that one is a bit wackier. But for $25 new, I love the behringer version.
