It really turned into just wanting to have a demo done. The songs are older and the new stuff we are working on is much more exciting to me. That being said we had a long discussion about it afterwards and I let them know if that happenned again they'd be finding a different bassist.

It really turned into just wanting to have a demo done. The songs are older and the new stuff we are working on is much more exciting to me. That being said we had a long discussion about it afterwards and I let them know if that happenned again they'd be finding a different bassist.
Yeah I had a band dissolve amidst a recording process. I understand the desire to just get it done. In retrospect I probably pushed too hard to "get everything perfukt."
Hopefully you get a more fair shake next time around.
Guitarist has been in Vienna visiting his parents, so haven't been able to practice for awhile. Ran through the songs with the drummer yesterday though, that was pretty fun. Everytime I leave my thunderbird for a while I think "man, maybe I should just sell it and use my P bass, get down to one", but then I plug it in again and hear that earthshaking tone and wonder how I ever thought that.
I've also decided C standard is the perfect tuning for me, its the lowest I can go to sound heavy while still being able to play chords and drones without it being mud. Luckily I have no issues with tone and volume in my band. Drummer is a fellow bass player (and a damn good one), and guitarist is a really chill guy, zero ego. Singer just floats around doing his thing.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything but that picture reminded me: my wife got a new telephoto lens for her Canon. This one has powered image stabilization.
That's the only lens i can take pictures with. Damn thing is magic. I need to get some more like it without all that zoom.
i'm cash poor right now until i sell some old photo stuff and unused bass gear, i'm using a 125 dollar 1989 push/pull 75-300mm nikon 4.5-5.6 AF lens and loving it so far

Her old Quantray was a 70(?)-300 with switchable for macro. If that bastard wasnt on a tripod it was unusable for me. Let alone fast moving action like a helicopter. Talked me right out of trying to learn photography. This new guy made things more fun. I'll probably spend more time with it.
the Df is really good in low light, but remember i could have hit that helicopter with a frisbee, because it was patrolling the canyons right off my deck flying really slow

All this bass can't be heard reminds me of a certain band I used to be in...HAH!!! Glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. Sure I miss the music but the struggle of dealing with that guitard, its much easier with this new guitard, he actually knows how to EQ guitar.
Had a daytime GH practice today, tuned up to D standard and vast tonal improvements!!! More feeling of bass, tighter sound, still heavy as fvck. C standard was just to low I guess.
Also made myself a new TGWN song today and yesterday, been doing some experimenting with this Casio SK1 keyboard I have, its actually pretty cool, made a loop and played down some guitar of it...Someone texted me right in the middle of recording for the 15th time to get it right and said f it, its a part of the song now.

The fender tone stack will keep me from ever owning a meatsmoke. I want mids, and diming mids while cutting treble and bass to get them is weak sauce.
Yeah I never could understand how that could happen, but after that whole ordeal I really get it now.
He must have fallen for talkbass talking about how loud 300 tube watts is and thought it was too much, that's all I can figure. The 300 watt version is loud, but that's why they put volume knobs on it.
Also tonight was the first night with the megalith at practice, they should rename it the mix destroyer. I run a good amount of dirt normally, but damn. I kicked that thing on and made that mix my bitch. Thought the house was gonna come down from the heavy.
