Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I got this off CL for $15 because it has a scratchy pot. I never felt the need for anything like this but it could be fun to play with. I will probably just clean the pot and flip it.
My girlfriends first comment was "why is that pedal so huge?" Funny that they called it "mini" but big box EHX stuff looks so dope.
This amuses me so much, because 90% of the time its "I am going from guitar to bass, and need a Jazz width neck". I know,I was one of'em
I picked up a cheap classical recently to mess around with and I swear you could land aircraft on that fretboard!!!

See that's what I'm used to, but with tight string spacing I was always messing up my fretting or occasionally hitting the wrong string. I never spent much time on one to really get a feel. I used to have a guitar, but that's long gone. Would like one again though.
This is interesting, I'll check it out. I do prefer Jazz width, but it would be cool to try.
If it works fine let me know. I'd be interested if you wanna flip it.
Oh and just saw the Korladis was suspended, any idea why?
His last post was in a thread regarding high volume. Probably got suspended for telling people where to put their opinions again. You think at some point he would stop leaving the S/D cave and venturing into the talkbass wilderness. He always gets into trouble.
Yeah I tend to hold back my opinions in the wilderness. I see too many getting banned often just because someone's upset over IMO minor things.
I don't think the mods do a bad job, but a lot of posts in any thread push into the grey area every day. I would be not surprised when someone gets upset and reports another person tends to be the more common cause for a ban. I could be wrong, I'm sure there's no way to find statistics.

Hey, what are some affordable ss amps y’all are playing thru? I’m a guitarist back on bass and I sold all my stuff. Drums and Mesa half stack are the other volume dealers
Gallien Krueger heads can be found for cheap and provide a lot of watts for the money. Vintage Peavey heads can be found even cheaper.
GK RB800 classic workhorse. sounds great
Sunn concert is my backup, scored it for 250. Hartke lh amps are nice and can be had used for cheap. And of course old pv 400 or early mark series. Killer kit that is hard to kill.
I started a poll with one troll-worthy choice, probably smack in the middle of the grey area.........surprisingly nobody seems worked up about it, so my troll failed. Seeing how that thread is ON FIRE with all the responses.
SVT 2 vs. Peavey Classic 400
yup i use mine occasionally. with enough speakers (min 215 or 810) it works for me. some have had issues with it shutting down when pushed, i have not had any issues with it but i also don't pump a ton of low end and I play with a light touch. sound wise, i like it. not as nice as the Mesa Walkabout I owned before but louder and lighter. not a fan of its distorted sound though, so I run it clean and use pedals for OD.
It's the amp forum. He can't resist, like a moth to the flames.
GK all day. By far, my favorite bass amp company. Never had a single problem, and can always get the tone and volume I require. Plus, plenty of clean headroom for my pedals and a great platform to use pedals with.
Peavey is also well-revered around these parts, but I have no experience with them on bass. On guitar, I have no issues with my Peaveys and the deliver the goods.
I have no desire for tubes in guitar or bass amps. GK and Peavey hav sated every need I have with their excellent SS offerings.
