Those are dope! The pickups are the best part. I had an '84 roadstar that I really regret selling.
i wish ibanez still made cool basses - I've never owned one but have never handled one I thought was sub par for the price point.

Your 810e should be 4ohms.
The lo-amp output has a minimum load of 4ohms in any configuration.
The hi-amp output has a minimum load of 8 ohms in any configuration.
Killer combination IME with a sealed 810. Dime your Boost control pull and goose your hi-mid. Then back your treble until you are happy. That always made me smile.

Cool. Thanks for the help. This amp has a bite to it I really dig I was expecting more transparent but love the growl.
Looks like DiMarzio's in there, so that's why it sounds good.
I've never used a vintage one, but the newer 100T is fantastic. Can do a real fat and growly tone easy.
Yeah, but they're a bit more dough than a decently working older Bassman. The 135's supposedly have more headroom before hitting the grit. Also I've been poking around Music Man HD 130's, which have a SS preamp, but a tube power section.
I've wondered about these old bassmans too. I know the general consensus in 'general population' talkbass is:
1. 'Not powerful enough' - probably not for super clean sounds that those outside our little corner of tb seem to value above all else. But for doomy angry sounds, i bet theyd be on par with a v4 volume/headroom wise
2. The old 2x15s these came pared with just suck. I'll give em that. Id think thru a better more modern cab, theyd be fine
I think you're right. I know a guy who used the 200w orange head and had tons of head room with an 810, so I imagine that anything on par with a v4b would have plenty enough power given the right cabs.
Don't know much about the 215 cabs, but I'd imagine some Peavey 215s would work great with them. I know a lot of the older fender drivers just aren't efficient, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the "not loud enough" critique comes from.
I have seen a few guys use silver face bassmans and do just fine. They sound great live and are definitely more affordable than the 100T. Never looked into them, but do they have a channel footswitch option? Most of em have two channels right?
I have no idea what that is. Oh, sure I could look it up (and I will) but silly questions are the cornerstone of conversation sooooo.. what the hell is it?

I like creating on my own when away from my band and the sound I create is totally different, its never like the music any of my bands make. Any of you do that?. I'll leave this here, if you can label it please share as Im curious as to what you hear?. Share one if you got one.

I've given up on finding a band for the time being - not by choice.
I write and record stuff in my basement to fake drums until I find some people. I find that more satisfying than being pissed off by guitar players, i don't know why but its always guitar players...
Stuff I'm writing now seams to be somewhere between Napalm Death and Uprising/Morning Star ear Entombed which is noting like stuff I've previously played but tons of fun.
I don't know what to call your tune that doesn't have belly dancing or bollywood in the subject but it sounds cool though. Are they real drums or are you using a program?
