I use a pedal marker. Its like a liquid chalk so it comes off easy with a damp rag but staya on pretty well otherwise. Never been worried for my pedals finish

That's a good idea, never knew of such a marker. I try not to mark up any pedal that I don't think will be a keeper, just in case I flip it. I'll have to give that marker a try for sure.
