Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I use a pedal marker. Its like a liquid chalk so it comes off easy with a damp rag but staya on pretty well otherwise. Never been worried for my pedals finish

That's a good idea, never knew of such a marker. I try not to mark up any pedal that I don't think will be a keeper, just in case I flip it. I'll have to give that marker a try for sure.

Looking forward to my new rig of 2 115 cabs. One powered. With a Verellen Meatsmoke Preamp driving it.

That sounds like a killer set up. How do you like that Tweed in your avatar. I can't say I have ever seen or heard one in person, but I would love to try one some day.

Running the blazer bass thru rb800 and Laney protube. There’s a lot of possibilities here. Using a pog on the guitar channel

Somebody talk me out of making another Fenderbird (would be #3). Start with the usual cheap & used Epiphone, enlarge pickup routes for a DiMarzio DP120 and maybe a DP145 in the bridge position. Token Supertone bridge and whatever neck, Fender or maybe something 2x2 that doesn't cost an arm/leg.

It's a Fender TV Bassman 15. Was a great amp and probably one of the best cleaner tube tones I've ever got from a hybrid amp.

Only sold it to buy another 215 a while back.

Sounds sweet! Uh... I mean, don't do it!:poop::rolleyes:

Hahaha my thoughts exactly!

Im thinking of putting my EB3 neck pickup into my Birds neck position, Ive got a Rickenbacker 4003 pickup in the bridge position. What I really want to do though is put a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder precision pickups in there so I can get the crushing heavy lows that my precision has. Or just sell the bass and be done with it. I love/hate this thing.

I have an SX with an Artec EB3 repro right up on the neck and I've gotta be honest.. it's so low and muddy as to be kinda useless.

I have it wired in as a seperate output simply so that it wouldn't overwhelm anything else in the circuit. I had it paired with a bridge Jazz for awhile, and that wasn't too bad but its currently sharing space in the body with the Fender Cabronita bass Fidelitrons and they're just not high enough output to remotely keep up with it, nor do I think tehy're all that well paired tonally even on seperate jacks.

I need to spend more time, I've been planning to rewire it for a year to clean up my poopie job and replace the abused minipots but never really got arond to it. Hell, it's had three strings for 8 months because I haven't felt like opening the new pack til I had it completely ready to go.
