Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I opted for DiMarzio Model Ps after listening to countless sound samples on the Internet (fwiw) in my Blacktop Jazz (split P pickups in the Jazz positions).
If the Fender MIM splits were hamburgers, these are buffalo burgers.
The other thing that interested me when I was looking was another TB'rs P/P bass (linnin?). He has a QP in the middle and the DiMarzio Split P (the Dimarzio split with the rails) at the bridge. I thought long and hard about that, but went with the proven Model P instead.
YMMV.
I actually thought the riff blasters sounded great on that clip. Can’t find anything else on em tho. I had no idea he’s the bass player for converge, from what little I’ve heard from them I like. And as of late I’ve been playing thru bass and guitar rig.

The basses or the bassist? I love Rush, but most fans are a bit touchy, to put it mildly. I've had a perverse desire to head to a drum forum (do they have forums? Can they figure this internet stuff out?must resist urge to go troll the latest Geddy Lee thread.

In stoner/doom news, I am super stoked to see (for the first time) the epic Sleep in DEEETROIT saturday night. I shall diligently report Easter morn with a full review!
Gonna be seeing them for the second time soon! And Yobs going to be in okc soon. Then ill be heading to kansas in july to see neurosis. Going to be a good concery season for me.
Yeah this year is gonna be a great year for shows!
I'm bummed I can't make it. I wanna see Sleep so bad, but we're on my little ones first road trip right now... can't wait to see Fu Manchu soon though! You planning on making that one?
I have tickets for Sleep here in Denver. I need to pick up Neurosis / Converge tickets as well.
Nothing wrong with that. One of the things I love about stoner/doom genre, so many different sounds out there.
Same here, one of the reasons I'm so pumped for the show. I try to get albums direct if possible. That and I've never seen em live.
A buddy of mine said the show was epic. He went to it on a whim, never heard of em before and now he's hooked!
Yeah, they were excellent! I was about 7-8 people deep on Al's side. Surprised how well balanced the sound was with 4 8x10s and 4 full stacks going.
Man, they had 5 full Ampeg stacks with one guitar 4x12 for Al and 5.5 Orange/Marshall stacks for Matt when I saw them in Las Vegas, Crazy.
Thought you guys might be interested in seeing what i got going on with my pedalboard build. 1/2 baltic birch. Using the gigrig g2 as well as their modular power supply system. Lava mini ultramafic cables, 229 switchcraft pancake ends.and the solderable mini elc plugs on the controller side.

Ever feel like your "tone" is a moving target? I have been trying to get my trusty Trace Elliot head to zero in on the sound in my head. And falling short. So, I gave my GK 800RB another go the other day. Now I'm confused! I'm digging the GK more now. So I took it down from Ebay. I figure I hold on toboth of em for now til I figure out what's what.
