Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Its not that he was straining it, its that he had put done 7 songs each averaging 7 mins. So he had sang a lot. Its understandable, everything is doubled when you do a double, go figure. The vocals are sounding amazing though. We didn't want to rush to finish tonight and end up with a few songs with crappy vocals. Especially the album opener. Pretty sure we have the order of the album figured out. Flows nicely, and never boring with the number of long songs that we have.

You guys sounded great since that no quarter cover you posted long ago (first thing I heard and repeated like crazy). I wouldn't worry ever about it ever sounding "bad".

Thanks! Im so pleased with how its sounding, its hard for me to imagine it any better and its not even mastered yet...I think tomorrow when I load the less rough mix we got today on my computer I think I may add a song or two on my sound cloud for private listening. So PM me if your interested in hearing them. Its sounding so good, it deserves to be heard by cool people, like you guys. I just dont want to find anyone leaking it mmmmmmkay?

I'm with you there... Not so much into maintaining batteries any more. Looking for Jazz Bass options now, mostly for the neck and secondarily for the passive single coil punch, a geddy may be in my future. But if I find something else that fits the criterion I may jump.

Although I appriciate the fanned fret concept and how it's working out for so many. I'm afraid my feeble skills will fumble all over one of those necks.
On a side note I met Ralph Novax when he was submitting his patent. I was a store manager at a copymat at the time. He was not real interested in talking to a long hair 20 year old about his designs.

Well my guitarist voice capped out after 7 songs... so we have one last short session booked for after Days of the DOOMED.
I recorded with my crapband over the weekend. The vocalist was coming down from a nasty case of laryngitis and his voice was all kinds of wrecked. Fortunately we were only tracking drums so his vocal work was only used as cues for the drummer. Man, towards the end of some songs he sounds like an Eastern European grandmother calling out for her insulin shot.

Seriously try one. It's amazing how intuitive the variable scale length is. It took me about 15 minutes and then I was sold.

Yes!?

That guy has been listing that thing for over a year...someone should by it. Maybe me if a Michigan friend can pick her up and hold for me until I make a trip out there.

Yup thats what I use. 250 watts at 4 ohms. Looks a lot better condition than mine was in. I had the built in fuzz modded to sound better other wise it's wet farts. There way too much in this thing, crazy cathedral organ like. Tremolo is cool. If you don't snag it lemme know i will. Always good to have a back up.

Yeah I think I'm gonna buy it, guy said it would work good for guitar and bass, think its loud enough to go up against my two guitarists 100 watt tube guitar heads?

Those 250 watts are LOUD. But depending get how many cabs your guitarist runs and how many cabs you run with it determine if it'll keep up. I still have to biamp to keep up with my guitarist. But it sounds really really good. That's what matters to me. Lemme know if it needs work done to. I'll send you to the guy that restored mine. Also lemme know if you ever sell it. I'll buy it.
