Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Gucci flip flops? :woot:

So for you band guys out there... What's the best way of going about and searching for a drummer? I'm thinking about putting up a craigslist ad, or perhaps few a flyers or something on my campus, which for guitarists I would be less worried about, but drummers are at a premium down here, and something tells me a large majority of them aren't into doom. Also I have such a limited experience with Doom/Stoner/Sludge that I'm not really sure what I should be looking for... minus a china symbol.

Sorry if this is vague but any advice, experience, stories etc. would be helpful. Thanks y'all

Messing around with tonez more tonight and adding a flanger to the mix is making things interesting. Signal path A is A/DA flanger then the Maxon SD9. Signal path B is just the B7K Ultra. I am trying that instead of the Fuzz Face because the B7K Ultra has the blend that preserves some of the clean low end. Maybe not a typical doom sound but it's keeping me entertained at the moment.

Good luck man. I have found 1 guitar player and zero drummers. I've done CL and Facebook group ads, so far no luck. I'm old so I'm not near a campus, you may have an advantage there. It almost makes me want to quit and switch to drums. But I'm not THAT desperate. :D

Damn I figured it'd be like this. I know one guy that I went to HS with who's well studied in Jazz drumming and he's got pretty cosmopolitan music tastes, I just don't think he's really into metal. He's a cool dude too so maybe he'll pan out but I'll see I guess. My dad is also a drummer but every time I jam with him he wants to play like coldplay and crap like that. :rollno: drummers man...

What’s better than one fuzz? Two. I ordered both the Massif and the Hail Satan, figuring I’d choose one and resell the other. Oops. They work really well together, especially with the Damnation. The HS is kinda bananas. It does the fuzz, but there’s also a noticeable punch underneath, almost like a clean sub-octave. Each note feels like that hard exhale after you’ve been holding your breath, like a relief but you also kinda want to puke?

Nice, I have one of the Full size Hail Cannabis (420 special edition) pedals as well as a Massif. I like the Hail, but I'm not a fan of the Massif on bass.
