Yours is pretty much a cleaner sansamp bbdi but also sounds a lot better too.

It's a full fledge preamp where as the thing I'm using is strictly a DI with a couple EQ options. I can't run directly into a power amp with it or anything like that.

Also Niff, not sure where finger noise is, but it's probably above 600/700 hz. Pretty much I'm sending lows and low mids to the PA. With an emphasis around 40hz to really move the subs at any venue we play.

Yeah, it sounds way better than any sansamp. The thing is a pedal monster, I honesty don't need the effects loop, besides making me think of spending more monies on fancy pedals to put in it. The post amp DI thing is cool, don't know if I'll ever use it though. Can't wait to give her the first real test at DOTD, the venue has a real nice PA that I plan on pummeling.

Yea Ron asked for a simple DI box. The low pass and the bass boost can be removed and that was because Dennis wanted a studio "colour tone" kinda box since it uses a xformer for isolation. The low pass is a 2 pol/2nd order filter so it reduces signal by 12 dB/octave. That is quite a sharp filter. The cutoff can be adjusted by changing the caps in the circuit. Bass Boost is active as Ron said so you can pump up the lows if need be and piss on the sound guy. The unit has a internal charge pump so it can be run last in the signal chain if need be without distorting from the extra signal off a distortion or fuzz

Crew came in in one day re plumbed my entire house for $2500 if I remember correctly. Only thing is making sure any ground wires tied to old pipe are relocated to the ground rod on the property.

Yeah that is what they are using. I'm getting the water manifold and everything plus they are adding an extra outdoor faucet I wanted and building a place to house it all in my cellar. They are also removing all the old stuff as there is a lot of unused stuff down there. I'll be glad when it's all done although my bank account is gonna feel pretty violated.

Ahhh nothing beats water pressure. Good luck.

For that cost I'd hope they are replacing some fixtures. I had a RO system to install and went to HD for new shower fixtures. Better have some new stuff instead of the old taking a dump soon after the install. I also have the system on two loops. One is for softened water and the other is not. I don't have a water softener in the system but it's plumbed for it.
After the install the lead tech said I have more going on in this house than most custom homes. I think we covered all the bases. :)

I go to school out east in Connecticut, and it still sits a little uneasy with me how I can't see any mountains in the area. It just feels...wrong. I visted Florida once, and that really freaked me out. It's soooooo flat, there are no high points for me to recognize and navigate off of. I'd recommend checking out the San Juans at some point, cool camping spots (Orcas has a nice park to camp in with a lake and all), lots of good biking judging from how many bicyclists are in my way whenever I'm trying to go somewhere during the summer, and I must admit during the summer, they're a quite pretty place to roam around. A little dreary during the winter, but hey, it's the PNW, where ISN'T it dreary during the winter?

Yeah, I'd imagine 2xDR201s for guitar would be just a little loud. I love my Sunns, but there's just something about the Hiwatt family that I find really appealing. And as I said, I would sort of like having an amp that was made in this century just so I don't have to worry about babying the old amps all the time. From all the pictures I've seen, they have some of the most gloriously laid out internals I've ever laid eyes on. I'm willing to bet they'd also pair rather nicely with some JBL loaded Sunn cabs. Maybe it's time to start squirreling away some excess funds...ugh, GAS, you'll be the death of me and my bank account (but the happiest and loudest death, you can rest assured).

In other news, the Parachute wah should be here sometime in the next week. I'm willing to call $200 for it a decent deal, cause to hell with paying $400 for a wah. I'm going to have one colourful pedal setup once it gets here (Red Fuzz Face, Orange MXR '74 Phase 90, Baby Blue Parachute). I've also got my eye on a Catalinbread Echorec, get some of that wah+delay "The Writ" & "The Dark" vibe going...but I need to take things one step at a time, I'm getting too close to spending money I don't have. So much gear, so little cash.

If it only affected me it'd be less of an issue, it just uses up allot of goodwill and favors for the people who aren't being paid directly for it.
Is probably time to move on anyways. Spent my day off yesterday looking for greener pastures.

Also - spent a few hours last night getting my little recording rig set up in a tiny corner of the bedroom (gotta love 1 bedroom apartments). I spent most of the time tweaking the behringer bass pod to get a decent amp sim going. Managed to get that sounding as much like my big rig as possible, then threw on a little bit of ambient reverb for some fake room sound. It actually sounds surprisingly decent.

Pedal board is running into the pod, pod runs direct into the interface. I was able to get audio in and out of the interface but I'm having trouble getting it to play well with Reaper. So I'm going to consult some folks here at work and do some research online. I'm pretty new to the world of interfaces and DAWs so I'm sure there's a simple answer.

The Standard 260 Series is a REALLY cool amp; It has separate inputs for the "Normal" and "Effect" channels, so you can jumper them with a patch cable or A/B box and use them both at once.

I love setting the "Effect" channel to be a big, wooly, distorted mess, then blend in a very clean, clear sound with the "Normal" channel until the sound has enough definition.

I got mine for $75 -- my only wish would be for a master volume so that I could set my filthy/clean ratio and then control overall volume separately, but for an amp that sounds great and cost less than most stomp boxes, I am NOT complaining.
