First Sunday of Advent, and Switzerland is voting on whether to scrap some Covid measures, so what do I do? Sure thing, replacing my Fender's bridge.
It's the brass version, and a LOT heavier than the bent-plate bridge that was on the P before. Which was sort of the idea, I hope to counterweight (haha) the bass's neck-dive with it. Which seems to have worked out, first-impressions-wise.

A little bit of both. My GSR105EX and GWB35 both still had the strings they came with (which weren't in terrible shape, but I was ready to try something new). I got something different, that I've never tried before, for each. On the GSR, Dunlop 45-125 nickel rounds. On the GWB, La Bella RX-N5D 45-130 rounds.
And on this fine Sunday morning, I'm wallowing in how much I love Boredoms. Yamataka Eye rules in general, but I love this band the most of anything he's done.
^ The records he did with John Zorn are pretty classic. Torture Garden is a masterpiece.
In my exciting Sunday bass news, I finally got to mess around for more than 5 min. with the Broughton Josh Wah that arrived last week. The filter is good, and I like the fact that it can double as a distortion pedal with it's gain + freq/resonance controls. Seems loud enough too, would recommend, even though it's a little pricey.

My latest acquisitions. Acoustic B120 and 301 cab!
Lol determined almost to a fault. The story of him shouting "I've not yet begun to fight!" at an opposing British naval officer when it appeared he had lost the engagement is a legendary tale. It's one of those historical stories that is so cool you have to take it with a grain of salt because badassery like that is nearly impossible to imagine.
Sorry to get back to this so late. I tried to get away from the electronics over thanksgiving...

Now that you say that I can't unsee it... After looking at the price of the egmond
. I can't say I'd get it. But I will stare at it longingly from across the internet now as well.A perfect world to me is one where gibson would come out with an affordable epiphone rd style bass that I could shamelessly mod. But it doesn't really seem gibson would care to do that or very much at all concerning basses...
They should've done that instead of the dude from Nirvana signature RD and the other one. The electronics looked more complex than the original.
As a person who owned a real RD for a minute, they are huge, heavy and mine had the thickest major league baseball neck I've played in a while. The Moog compressor thing is pretty weird, but they sound cool enough.
Edwards/Esp made one for some Japanese metal band you can still find for under a grand. Basic controls though.

love it man. Plays like a dream and sounds incredible. Definitely a great instrument for the price!
a couple of years ago I was at Sweetwater’s Gear Fest and I ran into Epiphone’s product development head in their tent. We talked about their basses and I told him how much I loved my tbird vintage pro and that they should make an Epiphone RD bass. Of course he danced around giving me an answer but I suppose I can assume it’s not happening anytime soon.
I also bug Hagstrom on a regular basis about making a Fantomas bass. They have actually told me they like the idea but, just like Epiphone, no bass so far.

Most Thunderbirds sound amazing from what I’ve heard…Don’t think I’ve tried one of those out even though I researched them a bit when I was looking for my first bass…
I did try out an ESP/LTD Stream (not quite the same body shape, but similar-ish)…Sounded great but I felt like the body went too far up the fretboard… <—- The Thunderbird body fortunately looks like it doesn’t do that…
