Hey Gents, anyone know the best/cheapest method of shipping a pedal to Europe, so I can ship Speedor the Idiotbox? USPS International flat rate? Or got FedEx/UPS?
I'd go FedEx or UPS. I've heard that USPS is totally impossible to get a claim paid if something goes wrong.

I can't say that I've experienced the same thing, but that's only because I've never bought a piece of gear that cost more than $400. I've never really had the extra income to spend on something that costs more than that - and I've never had a credit card to allow me to finance a major purchase. I get what I can afford after saving up a bit or flipping other stuff - and it's always been good enough. My rig is cheap - but it's loud and it sounds good.
Would I like to have an SVT or some other all-tube beast? Hell yes, I would.
Do I want one so bad that I'd pay $1k plus for one? Nah.
Someday things will line up and I'll be able to get a good deal on a sleeper tube head - but it'll probably be under the $500 mark.
Also: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was pretty damn good!
Holy fuccsickles! UPS quote was $180, FedEx $145. Post office $39 for four pounds and $32 for three pounds for first class. Yikes.

I think it's weird that jet was shot down with Americans and allies in it and Obama only referred to it as a tragedy or whatever. Yet we still need to put soldiers in Iraq that's still done nothing to us or for us... Save Isis threatening to keep a huge oil field.
Also I have Malaysian family so to hell with shooting down those peaceful peoples.

Ok so laz was right and my strings were too small at practice last night. Think it's maybe 105-45 (blue steels) but no 100% since they came off another bass. The daddarios died fast and sounded flabby. I Liked the tension of the daddarios

I can't realistically fathom how you ever made a .105 work tuned to A. I'm not going to say you didn't, I just can't comprehend it 
My Circle Ks came in the other day. The .136 does not seem that big, I should have no problems playing finger style on it.

I think I screwed up by buying the Orange Terror 500. It is way too loud for home use. It doesn't seem to open up/sound right till I play it about 9 o'clock which is too loud when anyone else is in the house. I have to play at like 7:30 to 8 and then it is too restrained like doesn't sound right. I hate to sell it but think I am going to and find a lower watt all tube amp that will also sound decent on guitar or go with a guitar tube amp that sound decent on bass.
As for tone quests and stuff. Priciest thing I've bought was the dually by miles. Nicest bass I owned was a Japanese made mustang bass, and I didn't pay for it. Some dude left a bunch of brass instruments at my parents house for a charity thing that never happened and he disappeared so I took one vintage cornet to a pawn shop and traded it for the mustang.
I'm under the belief that the cabs the biggest part, because I hate speaker fart/distortion, so once that's gone, I'm good. I use squier basses, danelectro pedals and amps are whatever I find cheap and interesting.
I'd like a blue beard or clone of one someday I think.
