Goes from Motown to pushed tube amp, very deep and low middy, not a bright trebly overdrive at all. The SSBS Mini was too grindy and biasy for me, this is much better for what I like. Pretty sweet on guitar too. I may have to get the Zeta Drive now for guitar LOL.

I'm intrigued by it as well, the CC is nice solid analog delay, the DM-2 was a pure classic though. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up.

Amp clip sounds gnarly, little too much treble for my tastes, but never got into Kings X.

I think that looks pretty classy. Although that's with abalone dots, which I wouldn't do, but they didn't have any pictures of a maple board with black dots.

Looks sharp to me, black dots would definitely need to be in order, but you've already said that now.

Depends on which bass. My 5 string with tapewounds has tones o buzz if I play it regularly, but I use it for lighter touch/tapping mostly. Does really well for an old school thumpy sound.

On my Spector I'm still playing with the string height. Finally got the neck basically straight, with the slightest bit of bow, and now it buzzes more on the higher frets. I need to play around with the setup to see what I can tolerate.

Regardless, it will always be low enough that I CAN get some clank when I get more aggressive. But I needs the sustains sometimes.

I really REALLY want a Spectorcore... when I sell my 5 string I plan on getting a 5 string fretless Spectorcore for uprightish sounds. One day...

Not trying to be a turd. I didn't like the couple of cars I drove with paddles because they wouldn't allow me to put it into a lower gear if it would cause the RPMs to go above a certain point. I don't like cars telling me what to do, I tell the car what do to. As states, engine breaking, control, and fun. I drive older cars, and older autos are horrible in the models I like. Not knocking newer DSG or what anyone else likes, just commenting about it from what I know and experience. :)

Very recently got a Malekko A.D. and it's WAY too much fun! It's basically an envelope controlled volume pedal.

I didn't really like it when I had it. Too dark and muddy, and the modulation sounded silly to me even tweaking the internal trim pot.

I'm digging my Korg 301DL though. If you can find one I'd highly recommend it. Controls for high cut/low cut on the repeats as well as predelay and ducking. Also has two presets and can sound either digital or analog!

Man, I need to keep a better eye on local listings... I need to find a cheap or free bike that I can steal the rear wheel off of.... I managed to mangle mine while fitting an engine onto my bicycle. Chain fell off the tensioner and tore off some spokes. :rollno::rage::banghead:

I have been building custom catfish rods for years under the name the River Wizard. My drummer drew this up and he doesnt fish but was inspired by the pictures he has seen of me and my fishin buddies holding up big catfish.

There is an old Arion analog delay in my local CL for ages, thinking about picking it up next time I am over Richmond, just nostalgia since I remember my guitar teacher in the late 80's showing me this wicked new device a pedal tuner LOL and it was an Arion.

Ron FN Swanson kicks arse but it might not be for everyone. Not much deep lows but has a very middy fuzz to my ears, but also not uber trebly either. I like where its frequency sits at. With the touch of octave up it's a bit of a poor man's 8 string bass, fun for doing guitarish lines on a bass. 2 note chords max even on guitar with the upper octave.

Sams, the DM-2 is definitely on the darker side of delay. It was one of if not the first analog delay pedals, so it wasn't very crisp sounding. Nowhere near as dark as a Moog or Malekko 616 dark, but pretty on point for an analog delay.

Really most analog delays out there currently are trying to do what the DM-2 did.

That might just be what I'm looking for then. I like a mid heavy fuzz, and no need for sub lows since with fuzz on bass I usually have one dirty and a second amp (or PA) clean. I'll be picking one up as soon as I'm in less gear debt :P

Ron I forgot to mention the lows get loose when you push the gain way up on the SSBS Mini, it didn't seem so great for bass when you really push the gain past like 2 o'clock or so, which is the fun part of the pedal. I actually bought the pedal from a TBer who had both the Beta and the Mini and that was the reason he sold it off. I thought I would be fine since I don't usually push the gain that high on pedals but it is a low to mid gain pedal so easy to push it that high even for me.
