Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

You don't need to speak Spanish. You just need to hold up your money, point and grunt.

You would think that, but I swear they dont want me in there unless I speak spanish. Last time I pointed and grunted I ended up with chicken tacos. They were the really fuqing good ones, where the whole bastard is fried, but they were not what I went in their for.

Fat kid, so I ate them and was happy.

Come on now, I'm thinking Ohio is going to have pierogi, latkes, kielbasa, pastes, you know stuff that makes white people fat.

You would think that, but most of the mid west has forsaken their roots in slavic deliciousness.

This also makes me think of living in Chicago. There is this place on Archer, they have buffet of different pierogie.

A. Whole. Fuqing. Buffet.

27 different kinds of dumpling.....

Not where I'll be. Maybe if I venture to Cleveland or something. I've never been up there as an adult and not going to an Indians game.

Nah... just have to be willing to drive to Chicago, the land of every culture and all their food.

Seriously, I bet I think about 3am deliveries from four different places via grub hub on a weekly basis.

Why did I need a pizza, sushi, carnitas, and a donner delivered at 3am? Stoner? Nope. Just a fat kid who spent too much time pulling all nighters.

haha.
Good point 6hr drive if it gets real bad. My aunt is in Nashville. But that's like 8-10hrs.

+1 for Chicago. Mind-boggling amounts of food choices. Whenever the wife and I take a day trip we venture into a new ethnic neighborhood and look for a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Last time we ended up at a Polish place that had a HUGE buffet. I didn't know what most of it was, but it was all goddamn delicious. Ate a little too much, got sleepy on the 2.5 hour drive home in the dark.

In 92 I was 8. Was into Michael Jackson, GnR, Nirvana, Metallica, Hendrix and other misc hair metal. Had tapes of all these bands already. Was into Ghost Rider and Punisher comics. Ultimate Warrior and Arnold where my heroes.
That was the year we moved from Cali to Ohio. Where I could actually ride my bike anywhere in town until dark, pretty sweet.

That's Turrible as Cleveland Brown would say. I need a road trip back to NEPA the have a Kielbasa Festival in my hometown. And last year was the first annual Pierogi Festival in a two towns over from my hometown. Man I need to go home for a visit. Jones Pancake House is still open for summer season. Potato Pancake House that is. They only sell latkes and pierogis, plus it is bazaar season too, beer, games, polka bands, and ethnic food.

It funny were on the topic of the 90's because last night my guitarist phone was plugged into p.a. So we could listen to music while we took a break and the presidents of the United States came with "she's lump" and all laughed because my drummer said little did we know but the whole time she was lump, the sonic Titan was already riding out on clouds of new horizon. Not that there wasn't doom metal bands doing their thing back then but just the fact that such over top 90's jams we're happen and sleep was just like shag that let's be saint vitus on ecstasy in space.

NPD. Im having a bad GAS spout I guess, picked up a echo shifter after I was done with overtime. This is the first delay I've ever really jived with, its pretty dark and clear like the night sky. The oscillation is really cool, I can have a sea of oscillating noise under what I'm playing but it never muddys it up, which can really thicken things up. I'm thinking this will kick the freeze off the board, as it can do what what the freeze does to some extent plus way more...Ron, cough you said you were looking to pick up another freeze right?

Played around with it my home rig, and now i cant wait to try it out at practice tonight especially with the ADA. The BOSS isn't anywhere as good as the ADA, but it does alright for home riffing.

Expect a nice big postabout my ricOsound findings and a new batch of rig pics after practice tonight.

Indeed. After my dad ran out of gas in LA during the Rodney King riots and a kid getting killed in the apt complex next to ours from a drive by. My old man said F this we're out of here.
Luckily a bunch of black dudes helped him push his '62 Chevy Panel Wagon into a gas station. He saw them approaching him. So he reached behind his seat where he had a gas can and a tire iron. He was prepared for either situation. They said hey you need some help? So he pulled out the gas can, and said yeah, just ran out of gas.

Scary shaged up time on the streets, looking things come in cycles to considering it's been about 20 years and it happened all over again in MO
