Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Trees is a reddit subsection where people discuss it. That's where I assumed we borrowed the term from.
That's cute, reddit use is hardly original. If not common anymore, at least when I was in high school it was used more than ganja or herb. Bud was probably second to trees.
Still I think it got referred to most in quantity. Quarter, half, O,QP so on and so forth.

Yea had to start somewhere to get there. Actually I heard it here first, and told a friend and they said that's a reddit subsection.

I like to use a church warden pipe and call it Old Toby because I'm a dork.

I like the term trees because I like to envision people breaking up and cramming a tree in their pipe.

One of my friends told me they quit smoking the pots lately... I can't remember who it was. hahaha. I know I congratulated them.
I don't need to smoke I'm permafried. I can't remember sh*t and laugh at the stupidest sh*t sober. I don't need any help.
Got to jam out on the Ric with the parental units a few days ago. Sounds f*cking boobies.

edit
It was my old drummer, who quit...

I've got an Ibanez SR506 (and 505), and GK 700RB-II, with a GK Neo 410. For "muff", I have a Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh, which is being fed by my JohnK Gamma Bass Overdrive. Really liking it for a full, "round" fuzz. Sounds much better with the Gamma than my B3K, since both Pharaoh and B3K scoop mids a bit. What do you think?
The Pharaoh should cover you.

It's all about those zippers and elbows.

Sidenote: I have my own idea of what a dimebag is, but really it is an indefinable quantity. To some people it is a ten dollar bag of regular(which obviously fluctuates with the cost of brick weed), to others it is a half eighth.

Yeah, not many STL people in general around here! I'd love a get together, try out new stuff etc., but there seems to be little/no interest.

I am down amigo. I am always prepared for a gear nerd out sesh, as well as hear some new ideas.:bassist:

Spent some more time with the B-15n over the weekend. So maybe I was a little rash in my original findings....also trying to tone test an amp when you're a few beers in, not the best of ideas.

The amp sounds awesome. It's definitely got its own sound, not quite an svt, but it's got that totally classic ampeg sound to it. Doesn't go super deep, but handles low end nicely. Very articulate and just overall great sound.

Was able to dial in a good low volume apartment level tone, but it really does shine once you get the volume up some more. But considering I'll never find another of these for the steal I got it for, there is no way I can't hold onto it.

So looks like I've got a B-15n for my home rig now.

Really for home and apartment use, I really can't do better. Now I really can't wait to get to use it for a recording.

Also I actually got word that the last piece of my home board has finally been shipped. One of those beat buddy pedal sized drum machines.

Home board will be -
Fuzzrocious LED demon + Grey Stache > Korg Pitchblack > Moog minifooger delay > digitech jamman solo > beat buddy.

Got some dirt and fuzz, and delay. Then the looper and drum machine so I can work out parts and write along to beats. Once it's all set up, it should be a nice and functional but still gets all the tones I love and use in my gigging setups.

congrats, i've been using the fuzzrocious dark driving into the pignose hog 30 for home use, but if i could get a cheap low wattage tube setup i'd be totally ecstatic

I got a pignose g40v tube combo in trade for a Digitech bad monkey. It's at my parents place in pieces and needs new power tubes. It's 40 watts, but it's a bassman/Marshall clone with an extra gain stage. I want to do similar to this guy and make it a head. Then later down the line I'd have my dad help mod it for less gain and see what I can do about tweaking it to 50-60 watts

What does the korg after dirt do for you?

Anyone else ever read this?

Just found out two of my friends from Brimstone Coven are starting up a project with dudes from Arsis, The Absence and Black Dalhia Murder called Necromancing the Stone. Looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
